Maluma is a very popular Colombian rapper and actor Maluma isn’t well-known in the United States, but he’s immensely popular in Latin America. He’s gained international recognition for collaborating with artists like Madonna and Shakira.

While Maluma wasn’t a household name in the U.S. yesterday, he’s about to start a heated debate over parenting. The rapper was performing in Mexico City when he saw something so dangerous in the crowd that he had to stop the show to address it.

The singer noticed one concertgoer had a baby with them. When asked how old, the fan said the baby was less than a year old. Maluma wasn’t happy about this. He prefaced his tirade by saying that he was a father himself and was only concerned.

According to PEOPLE magazine, the rapper welcomed a daughter named Paris Londoño Gomez in March 2024 with his girlfriend Susana Gomez.

“Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a 1-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f—— high? Where is the sound this loud? That baby doesn’t even know what it’s doing here,” vented from the stage.

He added, “You’re swinging him around like he’s a toy. That child doesn’t want to be here.”

Can Loud Noises Damage A Baby’s Hearing?

Maluma suggested that next time the fan attends a concert with their baby, they buy ear protection for the baby. Can the sound really damage a baby’s hearing?

Huey Lewis, Eric Clapton and U2 frontman Bono are just a few of the musicians who have suffered from hearing loss. They were all adults when they started having trouble hearing. But young children, especially babies, are more at risk of hearing loss if exposed to prolonged, loud noises.

The National Institute of Health confirms that loud sounds can damage the hearing in babies. Experts recommend noise-cancelling headphones for children and babies at concerts, car races, and other events that are loud.

Do you agree with Maluma calling the parent out?
