There are a lot of people worldwide who are in long-distance relationships. Sadly, a lot of these relationships never work out long-term due to many issues. In fact, sometimes there are a lot of lies that get told in order to keep their partner content. Some even resort to lying. Here are five lies people tell each other in long-distance relationships.

  1. Some partners in a long-distance relationship may say that they are exclusive. However, in many cases, this is a lie. It can get lonely in a long-distance relationship, and many want to keep their options open so they have some companionship. So, this is one of the biggest lies told that they are not talking to anyone else.
  2. Couples who do not live in the same area often find themselves very lonely. At times, there is no doubt it can be draining. Not being able to admit that long distance is hard can lead to many problems. It can also lead to resentment.

  3. Trust can be in jeopardy if couples lie to each other about their social outings. One partner may say they never go out in order to avoid an argument. However, if the lie is discovered, it may backfire and trust can instantly crumble.
  4. If a person keeps making excuses about why they are not visiting, it could be a huge red flag. If they continue to make excuses about not seeing one another, then maybe they are not as interested in the relationship as they once were.
  5. It’s easy to disguise problems in a long-distance relationship. Instead of being open and honest, they just lie about their feelings or keep them all to themselves. This is never good. Communication is the most important part of any relationship, but especially long-distance ones.
  6. A partner saying they were just too busy is another red flag and a possible lie being told. Some will do or say anything to avoid confrontation or an argument. They do not understand the importance of communication in any relationship. Do not make excuses as to why you didn’t call or text your partner. To many, silence speaks louder than words.
