Even the relationships that seem to be perfect go through tough times. Everyone has problems and some are even more common than you realize. Most issues can be worked out between the couple and are not huge problems. However, there are some that can create a huge distance between significant others.

Below are ten of the most common relationship problems that exist between couples.

  1. Communication is one of the biggest issues in relationships. In order to maintain a healthy relationship, couples need to talk things out. If they do not work through and discuss their issues, then it will lead to unhappiness and frustration.
  2. Expectations are another big one. Partners need to keep their expectations of each other realistic. Having unclear or too high expectations can lead to problems.
  3. Finances can really drive a wedge between couples. Partners need to be on the same page about finances. They should be open and honest and again demonstrate clear and good communication skills. Debt and money issues lead to a lot of couples splitting up.
  4. Boredom is another relationship killer. Be open to trying new things to keep things exciting between each other. Be willing to compromise and do things each person wants to do. Work together to keep things exciting and new.
  5. Intimacy is a big part of a relationship. Lacking intimacy can lead to major problems and resentment. Be willing to go all in and show affection to each other while keeping each other satisfied in the bedroom.
  6. Infidelity can lead to a relationship ending. Cheating is a no-no and continues to be one of the biggest relationship problems today. If one of you is not content, then leave, but do not hurt your partner with infidelity.
  7. Being unsupportive of your partner is a sure way to cause problems between you. Partners in a relationship should support each other and voice that. Lack of support is going to create anger, frustration and resentment. Always communicate.
  8. Sharing Household Chores is another issue that can lead to big problems. If both partners work, then neither should be expected to do all the chores around the house. These things should be split and partners should work together as a team to accomplish them. Not helping each other can lead to anger and other issues.
  9. Jealousy can also be a relationship killer. Trust is a big part of a relationship and both partners should strive to make their loved one feel heard and seen. Showing priority to another man or woman can create jealousy, which will most certainly lead to relationship issues.
  10. Addiction is another big issue in many relationships. It can be nicotine, alcohol or hardcore drugs. Any of these can lead to issues within a partnership. Having an addiction is stressful for both partners. Perhaps a rehab program and couples counseling can help fix these issues.

There are many reasons that can cause problems in relationships. These are just ten common ones. Overall, voice your concerns to your partner and do not hold things in. In the end, your relationship and your partner will thank you for being honest and open with your thoughts and feelings.
