‘Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Breaks Silence On Why She Stuck With Kody
Sister Wives fans could never understand why Meri Brown stuck with Kody Brown even after he showed that he did not care for her. However, she is now breaking her silence on the method behind her madness. Keep reading for the reason why Meri did not leave even though she knew Kody was done.
Meri Brown Looked Like A Fool For Years
Kody Brown was clearly over Meri Brown long before she left the plural family. He rarely checked in on her or cared how she felt. She would note that he never stopped by, and when they would go on a date, it was awkward. Meri made it clear that she wanted to move forward with him and bring romance back into their marriage. However, Kody would push her away, and she began to look pathetic. He was only interested in his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, although he made small efforts with his second and third wives.
Eventually, his wives began to leave him, but Meri remained faithful. Robyn encouraged her to stay so as not to break up the family, and she seemed to listen. Now, she is speaking up as to why she stayed so long even though she knew that she was not wanted:
“I got to the point that I was pretty confident that it was never going to work out and he was waiting for me to say something about it so that he could be the innocent party. And so I got a little bit stubborn and just stuck around.”
Kody made a comment when his third wife, Christine Brown Woolley, announced she was leaving. He said that it was like a “knife in the kidneys.” So, when Kody was telling everyone else that he was done with Meri and she was being defiant and sticking around beyond her welcome, she claimed this:
“I wanted him to say it. Like he’d been saying it everywhere else, but never to me. And I got to the point that I’m like, ‘I will be the thorn in your side or the knife in your kidney,’ or whatever.”
Does Meri Mean It?
Obviously, Meri Brown was the first wife and really did love Kody Brown. She never wanted to leave the marriage and genuinely cared for him. That being said, did she really stick around for the reasons she claims? Or is she just saving face, knowing that viewers felt she looked pathetic? That is unknown, but viewers seem to really like Meri much more now than ever:
