Kelly Jo has had her hands full over the past few weeks. The Bringing Up Bates star recently welcomed her 29th grandchild, Weston Slade. He’s also the fourth consecutive baby boy for Gil and Kelly Jo, with three more male grandbabies coming this year. Aside from the latest additions to the family, Kelly Jo has also been celebrating multiple milestones of her grandchildren. In May, the proud grandmother gushed over Layla’s dance recital, saying that her granddaughter’s performance was “priceless.”
Kelly Jo Shares New Updates Amid Papa Bill’s Illness
In an Instagram post, Kelly Jo Bates shared a new clip featuring the Bates family’s bonding time with Mama Jane and Papa Bill. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, there’s never a bad day at the farm. “Soaking up all the laughs, hugs & treasured memories that we can!” she added before saying that they dropped by Mama Jane and Papa Bill’s neighbors and friends. But what caught the attention of many were the healthy looks of Mama Jane and Papa Bill.

Many fans have been worried after the frequent visits of the Bates kids at the farm. It was later revealed that Papa Bill had been suffering from dementia. Carlin even uploaded a vlog where her grandfather forgot who she was and she had to introduce herself again. She even got emotional seeing Papa Bill suffer from symptoms of dementia. But it’s clear in the clip that Gil’s parents are doing fine today.
Bringing Up Bates: Gil & Kelly Jo Bates Looking Forward To A New Courtship?
There are also speculations that it’s only a matter of time before Gil and Kelly Jo announce a courtship. The Bringing Up Bates stars’ daughter, Addallee, just turned 18 this year and graduated from homeschool last month. Many people think that she was the mystery woman on Jason Duggar’s IG post soft-launching his courtship.
According to some, Addallee’s body structure was almost identical to the woman in the photo. Gil and Kelly Jo have yet to address the rumors that a Duggar-Bates courtship may finally happen. But some people think that Gil wouldn’t want any of his children to get tied to a Duggar due to their negative reputation following Josh Duggar’s CSAM arrest.
