Some Redditors discussed the unusual activity of the Bates family. According to the poster, the Bates kids are seemingly taking turns visiting Mama Jane and Papa Bill. Recently, Erin revealed that she prepared meals and restocked her grandparents’ refrigerator because Mama Jane has been struggling in the kitchen. Alyssa also visited her grandparents in March due to their illness. Many even commended The Bringing Up Bates star for cleaning up their entire house and cooking for them.
Lydia Bates Gets Emotional With Trace’s Gesture For Sick Grandpa
In an Instagram post, Lydia shared a heartwarming moment between Trace and Papa Bill. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, it’s hard not to cry watching her husband help his grandfather. She later said that Papa Bill has dementia, and some fans believe that it’s getting worse.

Some of the clips show Trace assisting Papa Bill walk. The eighth Bates child even helped his grandpa wear socks and shoes. Several members of the Bates family also left positive comments on Lydia Bates’ post. One of them was Kelly Jo, who said that Trace is “literally so good” with her father-in-law. Meanwhile, some fans are glad that the Bates kids grew up with a lot of love for their grandparents.

Bringing Up Bates: Another Bates Child Cries For Papa Bill
Carlin also took to YouTube this month to share an emotional vlog as they visited her grandparents. During the video, Papa Bill forgot who Carlin was, and she had to introduce herself. The Bringing Up Bates star was all smiles throughout her interactions with Papa Bill. But moments later, she burst into tears while driving back home, after seeing Papa Bill’s condition.
The married couple even contemplated going back to Papa Bill and skipping Zade’s upcoming swimming lesson. But the video ended with Carlin Bates Stewart saying that it was the best trip and she’d make sure to come back on a different day.
