McDonald’s Manager Shoots Teen Employee’s Mom

Sometimes people are asked to do something at work that they would rather not do. Unfortunately, it’s all a part of being a well-rounded employee. Yet, sometimes, tasks are too much and they may warrant a negative response. As for an Illinois teenager working at a McDonald’s, she got in trouble for declining to take the trash out. Her manager told her she could clock out and exit as she was not complying or doing her job. As she left, the teenager phoned her mother, Tynika R. McKinzie, to explain what was going down.

That was when Tynika showed up at the fast food restaurant with another female minor, and a “verbal disturbance ensued.” Tynika kept going after the manager, Kathy Bledsoe, and even followed her to her office. Sadly, it all got worse when Tynika proceeded to beat Kathy in the face and head. So, Kathy took a gun out and shot the disgruntled mother in the leg. The manager was charged with one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. As for the mama, she was taken to the hospital for her wound and charged with one count each of aggravated battery and mob action.

Chief of Police Matthew Eiskant shared this after the tragic McDonald’s incident:

“It is unfortunate that this incident occurred. It seems individuals are quick to resort to violence to resolve disputes without consideration of the impact their actions have on the community as a whole.”

More so, he added that he firmly believed that Tynika R. McKinzie and Kathy Bledsoe could have resolved this by talking. Rather, they took the violent route and now have to pay the price, all because Tynika’s daughter would not take out the trash.

On Kathy’s Side

Many who read about the McDonald’s beating and shooting were on the side of the manager. Moreover, they believed that she had been provoked, which led her to pull out her gun. Should she have resorted to violence? Absolutely not? However, did followers understand why it went so far? In many ways, yes:

  • The manager acted in self defense, PERIOD! She should get off!
  • Why is the manager charged for doing her job. Just because she had an entitled, lazy worker who runs home and cries to her worthless momma. I’d bet a grand that the mom went crazy and the manager had to defend herself

As of now, neither appears to be facing jailtime, but it will be interesting to see what happens when they finally head to court. Do you think that the manager should have gotten in trouble, or was she being made an example of? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
