False Alarm! Fan Favorite McDonald’s Item Not Returning
A fan favorite item is not returning to McDonald’s despite the belief that it may come back in the near future. So, what is the item, and what caused the false alarm? More so, will it ever make it onto the menu again? Keep reading for more details.
Fan Favorite McDonald’s Item Not Returning
This is an exciting year for McDonald’s as they are officially bringing back the Snack Wraps. They are little travel wraps that have stolen hearts and stomachs, but they vanished in 2016. This was after it had been a hit on the menu for ten years, and diners have yet to recover. Snack Wraps will be back for consumption in July, which has food lovers ready and raring to go. It will be offered in spicy and ranch, but is there another treat that was supposed to come back that is MIA?
Apparently, the Blueberry McGriddle was set to rejoin the menu in 2025. For those who have not had one, a McGriddle is two griddle cakes with a sausage, bacon, or steak, cheese, and egg in the middle. The blueberry added an extra dash of sweetness to the breakfast and was a smash hit after being tested in around 100 locations. It looked like fans would get to eat it once again, but sadly, that is not happening. A social media post teased that it was being tested once again. That led people to believe it would soon be added to the menu.

McDonald’s breakfast lovers adored the sandwich, that is those who were able to test it. This is a description of the Blueberry McGriddle and what was to be expected of it:
“The Blueberry McGriddles breakfast sandwich will satisfy both the sweet and savory senses. The flavors from the real blueberries balanced with the sweet taste of maple reminds me of the blueberry pancakes my mother used to make for us growing up. Imagine that combined with your choice of sizzling breakfast sausage or thick-cut bacon nestled under a creamy slice of American cheese and fluffy egg. It’s everything you love about breakfast in one sandwich.”
Sadly, this was a lie, and no testing was done on the sandwich. That means it will not return in 2025, although fans are hopeful to get a new twist on the McGriddle.

McDonald’s lovers were very much invested in the Blueberry McGriddle coming back. They heard the news that it was being tested and were over the moon:

- FINALLY HOUSTON!!! Then again….Texas was the 1st state to test out McGriddles over 20 hears ago….so yeah lol
