It was a really random thing and one that does not happen often. Whomever runs the official Twitter account for Queen Elizabeth and the royal family accidentally tweeted something out. It took six minutes before the mistake came to light and corrected. What did the tweet say?

It just goes to show everyone that even the British royal family can have occasional mishaps. A random tweet went out to the world which simply said, “Thanks.” It took six minutes before anyone noticed the mistake. There has been no explanation as to what the tweet was about or who could have posted it.
Perhaps it was the start of a memo that was in the beginning draft stage. Or perhaps someone thought they were texting instead of on an official Twitter account. The possibilities are endless and unfortunately nobody will ever know the reality of what happened.
However, prior to the tweet being deleted it was liked 1,260 times and had 591 retweets, according to People.

Followers of the royal family enjoyed the mistake
Fans of the royal family wasted no time replying to the mistaken tweet. One follower said, “‘You’re welcome Liz, and I’ve kept the receipt in case you want to change it kid, OK?”
Another said, “Well it’s about time I got some recognition!”
And, there has been other drama involving the social media of the royal family. Clarence House social media provides updates on Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. They actually limited who could comment on tweets earlier this month. The action came in response to alleged abusive comments that violated the Royal Household’s social media guidelines.
The comments allowed now are limited to only those who the official account follows or someone who is specifically mentioned in the tweet.
The comments were allegedly negative in regards to Camilla. Comments surfaced because of the current airing of the popular television show, The Crown. It is currently focusing a lot on Princess Diana and Prince Charles. And, the show also went on to show Camilla and Prince Charles continuing their relationship through the years of still being married to others.
The social media guidelines went into effect in 2019. They say commenters must be courteous and follow the guidelines. The guidelines say comments may not “contain spam, be defamatory of any person, deceive others, be obscene, offensive, threatening, abusive, hateful, inflammatory or promote sexually explicit material or violence.”
