Welcome To Plathville & Counting On Collide

It is no secret that the Duggars are close with the Bates family. They have a lot in common, plus both families have had successful reality shows. Additionally, the children have made a profit via YouTube and sharing what goes on in their daily lives. Some have called them out for exploitation, but they are laughing all the way to the bank. The Bates had their show, Bringing Up Bates, on UPtv, while the Duggars had two shows on TLC, 19 Kids & Counting, and Counting On. Both families have lost their shows, but the Plaths have since come into the spotlight.

They birthed ten children, with nine still living, and are Christian Fundamentalists. Father Barry Plath has baptized his kids, and they can be an acquired taste. Like the Duggars, they have a series on TLC, Welcome to Plathville. Now, it seems that the TLC reality families are colliding as Jinger Duggar was spotted hanging out with Lydia Plath. Lydia shared photos on her social media and a montage from May. In the right-hand corner, she was seemingly at a beach and taking a selfie with her was Jinger. This blew fans and followers away.

Obviously, the two can relate to each other as they had very strict and conservative upbringings. Furthermore, their lives were documented on reality shows. Yet, no one seemed to know, until now, that the Counting On and Welcome to Plathville casts were friends. After this photo came out, even more friendships within the TLC bubble were revealed. It turns out that Jinger Duggar is also close to the Roloffs, but again, many attribute it to being on the same network.

Lifestyle & Small TLC Inner Workings

Again, Welcome to Plathville airs on the same network as Counting On did. Although the latter was canceled in 2021, it last aired in 2020. At the same time, Cairo, Georgia-based Plathville began in 2019, so the Duggars and Plaths were both on TLC for a short period. That connection could have helped connect them. Fans also noted the similar upbringing and backgrounds:

  • What a small TLC world for them to be friends. Makes sense. They’re both very religious, married and were on tv shows. Marriage truly does agree with both of these beautiful women.
  • Yes; they are friends; L & Z have been on J & J’s podcasts/ u-tube channel
  • Yes! Lydia and her husband were on there podcast !! So maybe their friends not too sure tho.

It is interesting to see them hanging out like this, but it definitely makes a lot of sense. Did you know that they were friends, and would you like to see the Duggars appear on Welcome to Plathville? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
