‘Butt-Sniffing Bandit’ Arrested After Getting Caught On Camera
A California man was arrested after allegedly sniffing a woman’s buttocks while at a store. The suspect’s actions were actually caught on camera. Police have also shared on how they were able to trace the suspect. Interestingly, the suspect was actually part of a viral incident a few years back.
Police Tracked The Suspect After Hearing Reports Of Lewd Behavior At A Department Store
Reports came out that a suspicious individual had engaged in lewd behavior, sniffing a victim’s buttocks. The incident took place at a department store in California this past Tuesday.

According to a Burbank Police Department press release, the suspect was identified as 38-year-old Calese Carron Crowder. Police had responded to reports of a “suspicious individual loitering in the women’s department” near a Nordstrom Rack.
When officers arrived on the scene, Crowder had left the store. However, he was later spotted at a nearby Walmart. The release shared, “Using the store’s surveillance system, officers monitored the suspect as he moved through various departments.
The release continued, “While in the women’s section, the suspect was observed following a female customer, crouching near her, and engaging in lewd behavior by inappropriately sniffing her buttocks.”
It was also shared that officers made contact with the suspect, “given the nature of the behavior.” Crowder was then detained.
According to the release, Crowder is “a registered sex offender currently on active parole.” He was also said to have “a documented history of similar arrests for lewd conduct in both Glendale and Burbank, dating back to 2021.”
The Suspect Was Previously The Subject Of A Viral Incident On TikTok
Crowder was then charged with a count of loitering with intent to commit a crime. His bail has been set at $100,000. He is also set to have a court appearance on August 1, 2025.
Back in 2023, Crowder previously made headlines when TikTok user Michaela Witter caught him on video while at a Burbank bookstore. The video had originally been planned as part of a “100 solo dates” self-discovery trend. Soon, she realized a man was following her.
Witter confronted Crowder after he started to squat down behind her. At the time, in the video, Witter noted that the man appeared to be smelling her. The video, which soon went viral online, was then shared with authorities.
Witter’s video also caught the attention of former Lakers teammate Robert Horry. At the time, Horry claimed that the suspect had previously stalked his stepdaughter. Since sharing the video, Witter also shared that they received comments from women who also claimed to have faced similar incidents with the suspect.
The investigation is also said to still be ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Burbank Police Department’s Investigations Division.
