Florida Man Nearly Kills Newborn While Filming & Driving
A Florida man nearly killed a newborn baby as he was not only driving but filming himself for social media. This incident occurred on Sunday, June 22nd, and his speed was absolutely excessive. So, what was his punishment once he was caught? Keep reading for more details.
Florida Man Filming & Driving, Nearly Kills Baby
When someone drives, especially with a baby in the car, they need to be extremely diligent. Plus, they need to pay close attention so that any problems or potential issues can be avoided. Unfortunately, Florida-based Charles Wheeler II did not follow any of these rules of the road when he decided to Snap and drive. The twenty-nine-year-old was taking a cruise with his girlfriend’s baby in the back. That was when he opened up the social media app, Snapchat, and started to film himself behind the wheel. It was not just that Charles was filming while driving, but he was also speeding at an excessive rate.
Charles was going approximately 115 miles per hour, and almost got into a wreck when he dodged to avoid a mattress in the road. Furthermore, he was dodging, weaving, and tailgating other cars. When he was eventually pulled over, his Snapchat was discovered on his phone. It showed him going 110 miles per hour and living his best life, not caring that he could have killed himself and the baby. The little one, who was ten months old, belonged to Charles’ girlfriend. He was soon arrested and faced multiple charges.
These charges included reckless driving and child neglect, leaving his bond at $3500. He remained in prison for one day before being freed the next day. It is unclear who bailed him out or what the baby’s mother had to say about the situation. Charles can be seen smiling in his mugshot, which is sad and sick. There is not much more information known about Charles’ status, but he was blasting obscene music on his phone. This is likely when the Snap was discovered, and it made the situation even worse for him.
Why Was He With The Baby
Anyone who read the story about Charles Wheeler II driving and filming had a lot of questions. One of them was why he was with the baby in the first place. Yes, it belonged to his girlfriend, who likely trusted him and did not think any harm would come of a simple car ride. However, that was clearly false, with one person stating this:
- I fear for the safety of that child. Why is he out driving with her child in the first place?! Do better for your child’s sake!
Another encouraged the girlfriend to leave him ASAP, and compared to Charles to a child, as well. No one has any sympathy for what he did, and it will be interesting to see what his ultimate punishment is.
