Hidden Camera Exposes Nursery School Abuse
A hidden camera was able to capture nursery school abuse by a trusted employee. Yet, she was not just attacking the kids at one nursery but rather two. So, what was her punishment, and how long did this go on? Keep reading for more details.
Hidden Camera Exposes Nursery School Abuse
When parents send their children to nursery school, they trust that they will be well taken care of. The staff will act in ways that mom or dad would, and there should never be harm or disciplinary action. Unfortunately, not everyone should be around children, and a hidden camera in two London-based nursery schools exposed abuse. Roksana Lecka is twenty-two and was employed at two schools, where she was trusted to care for little ones. This all went down on Monday, June 16th, after her trial led to a conviction that she never expected. It seems that there was some suspicion of wrongdoing on her behalf.
Roksana began working at Riverside Nursery in January 2024 and stayed until June 2024. However, the children she was caring for started to have odd bruises on them, and the parents were wondering what was going on. The markings became visible starting in March, so two months after Roksana began her job. A camera revealed that she had been pinching the children, as well as kicking a boy who attended the school. The age of her victims was a young as six months old, which is devastating on all counts.
Detective Sergeant Geoff Boyle detailed the abuse that was seen, and it was horrific:
“Footage showed Lecka carrying out multiple assaults on the children in her care which included repeatedly punching and grabbing children, dropping babies into their cots and, on one occasion, she delivered several kicks to a young boy to the face and stepped on his shoulder.”
Along with that, she was viciously rocking babies in their cribs while the pinching happened several times over the course of a school day. Roksana even forced a child to eat to the point of them choking, and was ultimately charged with the abuse of 21 children. She took a guilty plea to seven counts, but that was clearly not enough.
Not The First Time
Along with Roksana Lecka’s time at Riverside Nursery, she also worked elsewhere in 2023. She was employed at Little Munchkins, where there was another incident, so it is interesting she was able to find a job in the same field. One may wonder where her co-workers were at the time of her attacks. They were allegedly not in the same space as she was, or had turned around, so she struck when she could. As for other problems with Roksana, she also smoked weed prior to beginning her shifts. There was additional footage of her vaping near a baby, which is questionable when the school is concerned.
Riverside Nursery will now face its own challenges as they are under review. However, they have put out a statement clarifying that this is a safe space for kids, and they only want the best for them. As of now, Roksana can never work with children again, plus she has to be sentenced for her crimes. That will happen on September 26th, so in three months, her life will further change. Roksana also blamed what she had done on being impaired by marijuana. Finally, she stated she had no idea what she was doing to the children, but the camera knew.
