13 Products Fading As Younger Generation Refuses To Use

There are a lot of products that were once very popular that are losing steam as the younger generation turns more toward technology advances. Below is a list of 13 products that are fading quickly because many refuse to use them. What are they, and what are they being replaced with?
- Landline telephones are becoming a thing of the past. They were once wildly popular, and most hotels still have them in rooms, but using them in the home is becoming less and less common. In fact, many younger kids have no idea what they even are.
- Paper maps and atlases are another quickly fading product. With the technological advances in GPS and its use on cell phones, the need for old-school maps is no longer a necessity.
- Alarm Clocks used to be a necessity for waking up on time. However, now, it seems most just use the alarms on their cell phones, and traditional clocks are not needed any longer.
- CDs and DVDs are also creeping into nonexistence. The introduction of streaming services has taken the place of people buying and renting movies or television shows. Plus, most just stream music instead of purchasing entire CDs by their favorite artists.
- Cable TV is also being replaced by streaming services. Streaming has made the need for cable very obsolete.

- Physical gift cards are also not used as much anymore. Digital cards are taking their place because they can easily be stored and retrieved on cell phones. Things such as Apple Wallet have taken the place of many carrying any sort of traditional card with them.
- Who needs travel agencies anymore when there are so many websites that allow you to plan and book vacations easily and with big discounts?
- Recipe books are probably not completely disappearing, but they are becoming less common as many turn to the internet to find their favorites and use online storage to organize and save them.
- Fine China used to be popular in past times, with many getting these when they got married. However, now, most young couples opt for what is practical and what will be used. They do not focus on having China to use during special occasions.

Younger generations want convenience, and what is more convenient than to throw a shirt into the dryer and click the steam setting to get those last-minute wrinkles out. This eliminates the need for an iron and an ironing board.
- Magazines and Newspapers are also not as common as they once were. Having paper copies quickly becomes clutter and is also more expensive. Most articles and newspapers have digital versions now that many are turning to.
- Manual can openers are not the product they used to be. People usually opt for electric can openers or cans with pull tops on them to make things easier to use.
There are many other products that are dying out and not used anymore, this is only 13 of them. Can you think of more to add to the list?
