15 Things Everyone Can Live Without

There are many things lying around the house that everyone can live without. Knowing what should and should not be there can help reduce clutter. Who knows, some may even be a good thing for the environment. While there are hundreds of things that can potentially be thrown out and never missed, here are fifteen of them.

  1. Extra throw pillows are nice, but do you really need ten of them? Getting rid of some of the older ones or some that don’t match is a good way to reduce clutter.
  2. Old magazines can be tossed out. Are you really going to go grab a magazine from ten years ago and read about the latest ways to get in shape? Probably not. So, grab those old magazines and catalogs and pitch them into the recycle bin.
  3. Tupperware without a lid can also be pitched in the garbage. What is the use of keeping it around when it probably won’t get used since the lid is MIA?
  4. Excess Mugs are a waste of space. Why do you need thirty mugs taking up cabinet space when, let’s be honest, you probably only use two or three favorites? Give those away to someone who can make use of them.
  5. Extra chargers and cables can also take a hike. There is no need to keep ones you probably will never use again. They may not even work anymore.
  6. Plastic bags are great for trash bags, but do you really need 300 of them? Throw them out and get reusable bags to not only reduce clutter but also save the planet.
  7. Expired beauty products do not have a place in the home. If they have been around for more than a year and you haven’t used them, toss them. It’s just taking up space.
  8. Old shoes can also get dumped in the giveaway box. There is no need for fifty pairs of shoes, especially those you ahve’t put on in five years.
  9. Books that you will never read. If they have been on your shelf for ten years and never been read, chances are they never will be. Get rid of those suckers.
  10. Plastic silverware can also go bye-bye. Why do you need to hold onto a hundred plastic forks or spoons that have sat there for a year untouched?
  11. Small appliances that will never get used can also be given away. They are just taking up space, and you may have used it once.
  12. Plastic straws are bad for the planet and most likely just chill in the cabinet waiting for the day someone might take them out. Get reusable straws and save space and money.
  13. Individually packed items are also a waste of money and take up a lot of space. They also add more to the landfills, which continue to be a problem worldwide. Use water in a pitcher or a jug. No need for water bottles.
  14. Business cards you picked up at a craft show three years ago can also be tossed. Will you ever really contact this person about that wooden sign you saw?
  15. Greeting cards are also a waste of space. Some people keep hundreds, but when the time comes to use them, they end up running to the store anyway to grab a new one.

Those are just fifteen items, but there are tons more that everyone can live without.
