Senator Chachi? Actor Scott Baio is mulling a possible Senate run to unseat a harsh critic of President Trump. The Happy Days star is among several formerly popular stars from the 80s who are vocal Trump supporters. Scott Baio wouldn’t be the first television star to hold office. Even Trump himself was a well-known reality show host before running for President in 2016.

Scott Baio One Of Many Trump Supporters in Hollywood

Conservative Hollywood stars like to push the narrative that they are outcast from the mostly-liberal Tinseltown. For example, Tim Allen still claims that his sitcom Last Man Standing was canceled due to his political affiliations instead of low ratings. Former General Hospital star and video hunk Antonio Sabato Jr. claims he hasn’t been able to find work in the last 20 years because he’s a Trump supporter.

Other notable Trump supporters include the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer Kristy Swanson and Angelina Jolie’s dad, Jon Voight. One of Trump’s most vocal supporters is Scott Baio, AKA “Chachi” from Happy Days.

Utah Senator Mitt Romney Calls Out Trump For Election Fraud Claims

Scott Baio is very vocal on Twitter about his support for President Trump, particularly Trump’s claims of election fraud. While most media outlets – both in the U.S. and around the world – have called the 2020 election for Joe Biden, Trump refuses to concede. Instead, he is filing court case after court case, hoping something will stick.

While many Republicans either remain silent or publicly support Trump’s efforts, the tide is slowly turning. Utah Senator and former Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is no fan of Trump’s. In fact, Romney is the only Republican in the Senate to vote guilty on the abuse of power articles of impeachment.

So, there’s no love lost between Trump and Romney. Earlier this week, Romney took to Twitter – Trump’s preferred choice of communication – to call the President out for his election fraud claims. According to Romney, Trump’s behavior is “undemocratic.”

Charles In Charge… of the Senate?

Trump and his supporters bristled at Romney’s words. In the past, Trump dubbed Romney a “RINO” (Republican In Name Only.) Scott Baio seemingly took more offense to Romney’s words than even Trump did. In fact, he is now considering running against Romney in the Senate race in 2024.

In response to Romney’s tweet, Baio wrote, “hey [Romney] beautiful golf courses in Utah……maybe I’ll move there, play a few rounds and unseat you.” He then went on to accuse Romney of stiffing his wife of $2600 for a charity event.

Baio’s Twitter followers loved the idea of him running for office. However, other social media users who saw the tweet trolled Baio for his lackluster acting career in recent years, among other jabs.

The Joanie Loves Chachi star isn’t the only one threatening to unseat Romney. The Salt Lake City Tribune notes that Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham threatened to run for the seat, too. Neither would be the first television personality to get into politics.

Aside from Trump, WWE wrestler Kane (real name Glenn Jacobs) is Mayor of Knox County in Tennessee.
