90 Day Fiance star Sumit Singh is visibly shaken as he drives to court to face charges from his estranged wife. A sneak peek of Monday night’s show suggests these serious allegations that were made by the wife he plans to divorce gives him a reason to worry.
90 Day Fiance: Sumit Singh In a Dark Place
Sumit plans to marry his 90 Day Fiance partner, Jenny Slatten, despite his parents’ disapproval. But to do this, he must divorce his wife, who came to him via his parents, who arranged the marriage.
The 90 Day Fiance celeb was so unhappy in this marriage that he attempted suicide. Even then his parents advocated for Sumit to stay with the wife they arranged for him. But that suddenly changed after Sumit’s heart to heart with his mother seemed to hit a cord.
A tearful Sumit said he only married and remained a husband to keep his parents happy. But now his mother sees her son is truly not happy and in danger of losing his life by his own hand.
Mom and Dad Come Through
While his parents don’t want Sumit to marry Jenny Slatten, that’s only because of the age difference. Sumit who is 32, is almost 30 years younger than his 90 Day Fiance love interest, Jenny, who is 61.
Still, they now support their son’s decision to end his marriage. Plus, they decided to help with the expensive $20,000 bill for the divorce as well. Sumit pulls on his parent’s heartstrings and probably every other parent in the viewing audience when he says to his mom and dad:
“I got married thinking of your happiness. I listened to you and went through with an arranged marriage … Then where did my happiness go? Mummy, I was dying!”
Probably the most important scene to Sumit is when his mother confesses to this being a real mistake on their part. Pushing him into an arranged marriage is not what they should have done, she tells her son as the 90 Day Fiance cameras roll.
90 Day Fiance: Jenny Slatten Reveals the Charges
On the way to the court to face the abuse allegations filed by his wife, Sumit confides in his close friend Rohit. He’s so worried that he’s losing sleep over this court date, he tells his good friend.
But so far Sumit has not offered any details about these “charges” brought to the court by his wife. Although Jenny did mention something about them to the 90 Day Fiance viewers. She said Sumit’s wife is “claiming that he was hurting her, treating her bad.”
No one is offering up the legal term for “hurting her” and “treating her bad”. Are these abuse charges in some shape or form?
Sumit Opens Up About Charges
While making their way to the government building in India, where Sumit will answer to his wife’s charges, he is visibly shaken. He tells Rohit that he’s under so much tension that “it’s like hell for me.”
He then tells his buddy “I’m having bad dreams about, like, what’s going to happen.” Sumit believes this is nothing more than a ploy by his wife to hurt him.
All he can do is pray that the judge sees through this. He then says into the 90 Day Fiance camera, “if not, I’m really screwed.”
Rohit’s take is a little different. He thinks Sumit’s in-law put her up to this to get more money from Sumit. Rohit also validates the stress his 90 Day Fiance friend has been under. He too hopes Sumit’s wife and inlaws withdraw the case.
