A Florida woman has been charged after she posed as a nurse and then proceeded to treat thousands of patients. This is not the first time something like this has happened, but she was caught, and now she will face a penalty. So, what are her charges? Keep reading for more details.

Florida Woman Charged After Posing As Nurse

A Florida woman decided to pretend that she was a nurse and ended up with many patients. She was treating them as if she were licensed, but in reality, she had no credentials to do so. Twenty-nine-year-old Autumn Bardisa was donning her scrubs at her home when she was arrested on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025. She had been playing the role of a nurse, even treating over 4K patients, despite not having a license. It is being billed as “one of the most disturbing cases of medical fraud we’ve ever investigated,” per the Sheriff.

From June 2024 to January 2025, Autumn was involved in the treatment of 4,486 patients. Moreover, she had been employed at AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway before she was let go. This was not an overnight arrest but rather a seven-month investigation into what she had been doing. Allegedly, Autumn had been using someone else’s nursing identification to do her job. Now, Autumn’s record indicated this:

“When applying for the position, Bardisa indicated that she was an ‘education first’ registered nurse, meaning that she passed the required schooling to become a registered nurse but had not yet passed the national exam to obtain her license.”

However, her tune soon changed, and she alleged that she had passed the licensing portion, handing out a number. At the same time, to make up for the name discrepancy on the license, Autumn claimed she had just tied the knot. Therefore, the Florida woman had changed her name, but a marriage license was soon requested of her. She never gave that paperwork up, but did get a promotion.

Strangers In The Night

The woman that Autumn Bardisa pretended to be had attended school with her. They also worked for the same company, just in different locales. However, the two had never met, so this was not anything that was planned by the “fake” nurse. Furthermore, the other woman was not implicated in this crime, and it is falling solely on Autumn as the investigation goes on. Followers of the story blamed her place of employment for being so desperate. They also noted how Autumn did not show any signs of remorse when she was arrested in Florida. Rather, she acted like she was innocent and unaware of her crimes.

Had you heard of this story, and are you surprised she got away with treating so many people? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
