Part 1: The ‘My 600-lb Life’ Cast Members Who Have Died

My 600-lb Life featured a lot of inspirational stories. Some of them seemed impossible. But with the help of Dr. Now, they were able to overcome their struggles with being overweight. However, some of the show’s cast members didn’t make it through. There have been numerous people who passed away during their journey to lose weight. Keep reading to learn more.

Henry Foots

Henry was featured in the first season of My 600-lb Life. He weighed 750 pounds and had serious problems with eating. His mother also admitted to never stopping him from his eating habits when he was young. Foots was able to drop his weight to 275 pounds due to strict diet programs and workout routines. The gastric bypass surgery also played a significant role in his weight loss. However, the former TLC sadly passed away in 2013. His cause of death remains unknown. But there are reports claiming that it’s related to his surgery.

James Bonner

James shocked the world with the news of his death in 2018. He appeared in the sixth season of My 600-lb Life and was able to drop his weight from 642 lbs to 316 lbs. He took to Facebook to thank all of those who stood by him during his journey. One week later, his body was found in a ditch in Lexington, South Carolina, with a single gunshot wound to his head. There are also reports that it was a self-inflicted gunshot.

Lisa Flemming

Lisa began to gain weight when she was a child. She used eating as her way to deal with her parents’ divorce. It also got worse after she witnessed the murder of her brother. She appeared in the sixth season of My 600-lb Life at over 700 pounds. She was able to lose 200 lbs during the show. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to fulfill her goal after a few months from a heart attack.

Robert Buchel

Robert had a great start in his My 600-lb Life journey with Dr. Now. He joined the show to lose weight for his upcoming wedding. The former TLC star shed 124 pounds after his lymphedema mass removal and 340 lbs from diet programs and workouts. However, he developed an addiction to painkillers and began refusing to get off the bed after his medications were removed. Buchel passed away in 2017 from a heart attack, leaving his fiance devastated.

Sean Milliken

Sean was one of the heaviest stars in My 600-lb Life. He appeared in the show at around 900 lbs. It was revealed that he became obese at the age of 10 when his parents divorced. He was able to drop 400 pounds during the show. However, his mother disregarded Dr. Now’s orders and continued feeding him unhealthy foods. Milliken died from an infection that led to a cardiac arrest in 2019.

Kelly Mason

My 600-lb Life Season 7 featured Kelly Mason’s devastating story. She had multiple illnesses amid her struggles with her weight, such as high blood pressure, thyroid problems, diabetes, and even clots in her blood and lunch.

Kelly arrived at the show at over 700 pounds and was suffering from arthritis, making it hard for her to move. She was able to shed 300 pounds with the help of Dr. Now. She also became one of the doctor’s favorite patients due to her positivity and jokes. Sadly, Mason passed away from heart failure on February 15, 2019, which is only a day before her 42nd birthday.
