Delphi Murders: ISP Superintendent Has Hope For Solving The Case

Nikole Behrens

Could there be a break in the Delphi murders investigation anytime soon? That’s the question people are wondering as an official from the ISP gives an update in the case.

Authorities believe they will solve the Delphi murders — it’s only a matter of time

Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter recently told Indianapolis news station WRTV that he believes authorities will crack the case while he is still in office.

“Three years, two years 11 months,” Carter told the station. “It could be today. We continue to move in a positive direction.”

Carter also revealed someone once asked him what he would say to victims Abby Williams and Libby German if he could talk to them.

“I’d simply say sorry, but I hope they’re proud of us, of what we tried to do, and I believe one day I will be able to do that,” Carter decided.

Some people watching the case think the trail went cold, but Superintendent Carter says that isn’t the case at all. As long as there is still an active investigation, and there is, the Delphi murders are not a cold case.

The Carroll County sheriff’s office also recently stated the Delphi murders are definitely not considered a cold case.

“We continue to diligently seek the justice so honorably owed to Abby, Libby, their respective families, and our dedicated, local community,” the country sheriff said in a press release.

“To that end, I want to stress that the investigation is still quite active and is NOT a cold case. We also continue to encourage the submission of valid and valuable information which will help us to attain the goal of justice for our precious Abby and Libby. Thank you to all who have come alongside us in our ongoing efforts.”

Is the case potentially connected to a catfish account?

In December, the Indiana State Police said they were now looking into a Snapchat catfish account in connection with the murders. WRTV admitted they tried to get more information out of Carter, but he wasn’t willing to share much more information.

“It generated a tremendous amount of interest and the leads we have received have been very helpful that’s as far as I can go on that particular issue,” he told the news outlet.
