Christmas is still two months away, but it has already taken over the Hallmark Channel. The 2025 Countdown To Christmas is on. It kicked off on Friday, October 17, with Mistletoe Murders. This season’s first original movie, A Royal Montana Christmas, premiered on Saturday, October 18.
The fan-favorite Christmas movie event features movies from all your favorite Hallmark stars, including some from When Calls the Heart. With Christmas movies taking over the channel, will Hearties get their Christmas wish of a new season before the end of the year?
Season 12 of WCTH ended in March with Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Nathan (Kevin McGarry) leaving Hope Valley for Cape Fullerton. Hallmark announced during the season finale that the show will return for Season 13, but when?
When Calls the Heart fans hoped to see their favorite characters back on screen before the end of the year. Several of the cast members have teased online about filming Season 13 in British Columbia, Canada. It’s a long trek for many of the stars. Lead actress Erin Krakow reportedly lives in Los Angeles, California, with her husband and co-star, Ben Rosenbaum, when she’s not filming in Canada.
Unfortunately, When Calls the Heart will not return for Season 13 in 2025.

Production on a show like When Calls the Heart can take months. The stars are still in Canada filming for the new season. Hallmark hasn’t shared an exact premiere date for Season 13 yet. But it will likely follow the same schedule as Season 12. That premiered in January and the season ended in March.
When Calls the Heart is expected to return in early 2026 and fans can’t wait. They took to the comments on a post about the show’s expected return to share storyline suggestions.
