Has The Trivago Spokesperson Been Replaced By AI?
On Patrol: Live viewers have become accustomed to certain routine commercials. One is for the discount travel app, Trivago. Yet, what stands out about this ad is one of the main spokesmen, Jurgen Klopp, who is a prominent German sports trainer. Unfortunately, his ads have become more comical than anything, and now, he seems to have been replaced. So, what is the status? Keep reading for more details.
Has The Trivago Spokesperson Been Replaced
Trivago has become a well-known travel app, allowing vacationers to get the best hotel deals. To keep the momentum up, the app has made a handful of commercials. The most recent ones star German sports trainer Jurgen Klopp. Unfortunately, the ads have become more of a joke than anything, as Jurgen is known for his oversized teeth. They are both distracting and somewhat comical, yet the company has kept him. Tim Williams was there first, and he was a hit, but Stuttgart, Germany-native, Jurgen has since taken his spot.
Despite his commercials making people laugh, they became a staple. However, it now appears that Jurgen is MIA and has been replaced by a new fellow. At the same time, some viewers cannot help but wonder if this bait and switch is the work of AI. It is virtually the same commercial, just with a new, younger man. One follower immediately had this to say:
- They didn’t recast. It AI layed over the original body and face I think.
Others agreed as they did not feel it was a genuine actor, but something off and superficial. Although Jurgen was a bit of a mess, he was a staple, and to have him magically erased is a tad strange.
In all fairness, the new Trivago spokesman does look like he was superimposed. It is likely the company did not want to go back and reshoot the whole ad. Therefore, this was a quick and affordable option. One noted that, despite Jurgen’s sports fame, his teeth were too much of a distraction:
- Apparently so many people have been freaked out by those damn teeth that they felt complelled to reshoot an entire commercial
Missing Jurgen
Although many were struggling with Jurgen Klopp, he was the face of Trivago. During the Friday, October 17th episode of On Patrol: Live, viewers took to social media to chat about the switch:
- Now I feel bad for the trivago teeth guy. He got replaced
- Hey , they changed the Trivago guy
- GET OUTTA HERE, AI TRIVAGO GUY!!!!!!
At this point, it is clear that this is the product of AI, but it may be more distracting than Jurgen’s teeth. The torch has been passed, but not in a comfortable way for anyone. Hopefully, Trivago reworks everything so the focus can be on the brand and not anyone’s teeth.

They should have just done a whole new commercial because doing it this way makes your company look like cheapscapes. Not to mention it make the commercial just look odd.

I like the Trivago guy! I admit that I never knew his name or his profession before being the Trivago guy. In my defense, I don’t know American coaches, trainers, or sport players, let alone those in other countries. I like his laid-back manner and his toothy smile! I look forward to his next adventure and his new friends. I can only assume Mr. AI doesn’t charge as much. Mr. AI looks fake, and IF this fake-looking guy is real, then he should pursue a career “behind the camera. ” This AI switch thing has got to stop!! Don’t tell me it was done to appease the clamoring public’s dislike of the Trivago guy.
Let’s be honest, the Liberty biberty idiot is waaaay more annoying than the Trvago guy on any day of the week, but that’s a matter of poor writing and a lack of creativity.

I’m going to “dump” Trivago if they do this to Jurgen Klop. He is a very handsome man, more so than the other two actors they have with him. I don’t know how other ladies feel, but I always stop to watch him! He makes me smile and he is definitely easy on the eyes!! Too bad Trivago!
Yes, I noticed! I think this is a very cruel thing to do. Mr Klopp is a very real personality and Trivago could have know about the teeth. The new ‘guy’ is a disgrace. Please keep Klopp!
