Courtney Waldrop Keeps ‘Popsie’s Legacy Alive With Unique Gifts
TLC viewers met Courtney Waldrop’s beloved father on ‘Sweet Home Sextuplets.’ She revealed the way she’s keeping ‘Popsie’s legacy alive for her kids.
Sweet Home Sextuplets Kids Today
Reality TV isn’t for everyone. Courtney and Eric Waldrop let TLC cameras into their lives after they welcomed sextuplets in 2017. Their show, Sweet Home Sextuplets, started in 2018 but ended after just three seasons.
The married couple also had three other children before welcoming the sextuplets. They welcomed their first son, Saylor, in 2008. Twins Wales and Bridge arrived in 2012. The twins and sextuplets were the result of fertility treatments.

The sextuplets were three the last time TLC viewers saw them. Eric and Courtney Waldrop didn’t feel that reality TV was the right place to raise their family of eleven.
Other families from that era of TLC, including the Busbys from OutDaughtered, have also stepped away from reality TV. But the Busby, Duggar, Bates, and Waldrop families still keep in touch with fans through social media. They regularly share updates on how their kids are doing.

Viewers met some of Courtney and Eric Waldrop’s extended family, including Courtney’s father. He was known as Gerry Hill to many, but he was “Popsie” to his grandkids. The Sunday School teacher sadly passed away in December 2024 at a hospital near his hometown of Albertville, Alabama.
According to his obituary, his grandsons Saylor, Wales, Bridge, Blu, Layke, and Tag were among the pallbearers at the funeral.
The sextuplets were seven when their grandfather died. Courtney Waldrop wanted to do something special to make sure her father’s memory lives on with all of her kids.

She took to social media to reveal the unique and heartwarming gifts she had made for her children. “Giving the kids a bear that was made from their Popsie’s shirts was so very special,” she wrote in the caption.
The former TLC star shared a video that showed her giving each of her nine children a very special stuffed bear. She shared a sweet message to her dad in the caption.
“To my Daddy, we will keep you close always and these babies will not forget you!! One day they’ll pass these beautiful bears made with your clothing to their children and tell them all about you. But the one thing we will always share is how you loved to lead people to the Lord and that’s the most important legacy any of us could leave behind,” she wrote.
Courtney Waldrop’s social media followers couldn’t hold back the tears. One fan wrote, “The way you make sure every single one of those babies feels seen as an individual is incredible!”
Another added their own memory of Popsie. “So sweet! When we watched the show we thought he was so funny! I remember him saying “if that don’t light your fire, your woods wet!” lol and we still say it!”
A third follower replied, “What a beautiful way for each child to remember Popsie. I know he’ll be looking down with love at such a sweet way to remember him.”
