A Maryland toddler was recently smothered to death in Saran Wrap, and then her remains were placed in a suitcase. So, who would do such a thing, and was there any motive behind this? Keep reading for all of the chilling details.
Maryland Toddler Smothered In Saran Wrap
This story just keeps getting more sad and heartwrenching as details emerge. A Maryland toddler named Nola Dinkins was just three years old when her body was found. She was discovered in a suitcase after her body had been wrapped in Saran Wrap. An Amber Alert went out on June 10th for Nola as she was allegedly kidnapped. Her mother, Darrian Randle, made the call that her daughter was missing, and red flags were up for Nola’s whereabouts. On June 11th, authorities went to Darrian’s home where they found her boyfriend, Cedrick Antoine Britten.
It was soon noted that there was criminal activity and a search ensued. Sure enough, Nola’s body was found in a vacant lot, and Darrian as well as Cedrick were arrested. The day before Nola was reported missing, her mother allegedly beat her until she was knocked out. Then, she and her boyfriend proceeded to drive around with Nola in the car. After they got back from their drive, Nola’s body was placed in a suitcase, and that was where she was ultimately found. Her body was thin, and it is unconscionable how anyone could do this to a little girl.
After the discovery of the Maryland toddler, her mother and Cedrick were both arrested. Darrian Randle is charged with first and second-degree murder, as well as child abuse resulting in death. As for her partner, he is now an accessory to what happened, as well as helping Darrian get rid of Nola. Finally, he never reported her death, so that just adds on to his crimes. The couple is in jail while more investigation is being done to get to the bottom of this.
A Family Mourns
Nola Dinkins’ grandmother has broken her silence about the devastating loss, as has her biological father. He has set up a GoFundMe, with a goal of $12K. That amount has nearly been reached as he spoke out about what a bright light his daughter was. Furthermore, he plans to use this for her end-of-life expenses, plus any legal fees incurred. Clearly, her father will be taking action to ensure justice is served. Those who have heard this story are broken for the family and for Nola:

Some also spoke out about how Nola’s mother was recently in a custody dispute with the father. The fact that she won and this is how it ends is even more sickening.
