Man Chopped Off Father’s Head, Then Posted On YouTube
A Pennsylvania man has recently been sentenced in a case of alleged patricide. According to reports, the suspect cut off his own father’s head. He then posted a video on YouTube about the crime, complete with one especially macabre detail.
The Suspect’s Video Remained On YouTube For A Few Hours Before Being Removed
The suspect reportedly shot his father to death with a gun he recently purchased. He then reportedly chopped off his father’s head using a kitchen knife and a machete.
After the crime, the suspect posted a video on YouTube. The video, which ran for fourteen minutes, was up for several minutes before being removed.

According to CBS News, the suspect was identified as 33-year-old Justin Mohn. Reportedly, Mohn later claimed during his trial that he was trying to “perform a citizen’s arrest” on his father, alleging he had committed “treason.”
Justin’s father, Michael, was an engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Philadelphia. Previously retired, it was reported that he went back to work part-time with the organization.
According to People, Justin shared a video on YouTube after the incident, in which he showcased his father’s severed head. In the video, Justin could allegedly be seen picking up “the decapitated head of his father, Michael Mohn, identifying him by name and as his father, stating ‘He is now in hell for eternity,’” as reported by a probable cause affidavit.
Officers at the scene found a machete in the bathtub. The victim’s head was found in a plastic bag in a cooking pot near a first-floor bathroom.
Authorities Also Reportedly Found A USB Device With Instructions For Making Explosives During His Capture
Justin was then arrested after officers found him hopping the fence at the Pennsylvania National Guard headquarters. According to authorities, Justin also had a USB device with photos of federal buildings and instructions for making explosives at the time of his capture.
During his trial, Justin’s mother, Denice, shared that police previously came to the house to warn her about his online posts, which reflected anti-government views. The YouTube video also allegedly featured rants about government, immigration, fiscal policy, urban crime, and the war in Ukraine.
According to ABC News, Michael and Denice had been financially supporting Justin and offering him guidance as he was looking for work. A defense expert also claimed during a competency hearing that Justin wrote to the Russian ambassador to the U.S. in the hopes of seeking refuge. He also reportedly apologized to President Vladimir Putin over claims of being the Russian czar.
This past Friday, Justin was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He had been found guilty of charges of first-degree and second-degree murder. A no-contact order was also granted for the immediate Mohn family.
