British Man Arrested For Taking 9-Year-Old Bride To Wed In Disney
A British man has been arrested for taking a nine-year-old girl to Disney with the goal of “marrying” her. This is every parent’s worst nightmare, so how did he go about this, and what could his punishment be? Keep reading for more details.
British Man Aims To Wed 9-Year-Old In Disney
Disney is supposed to be the happiest place on earth, and any child (or adult) would be thrilled to go there. Unfortunately, things turned disastrous when a twenty-two-year-old British man took a nine-year-old to Disneyland Paris. His goal was to “marry” her in a staged ceremony. He allegedly had guests come in for the occasion, but they appeared to have no idea what was happening that day. It was all set for Saturday, June 21st, in front of the castle, but things backfired when the park realized that the bride was very young. Therefore, they grew concerned and alerted authorities.
They then saw that the guests were hired to pretend to be wedding attendees. Again, it does not appear they had any idea of the severity of the situation they were participating in. Upon being confronted, the “groom” claimed he was filming something for social media. Nothing legal was set to take place, but he was arrested. Additionally, the girl’s mother was taken into custody along with two Latvian nationals. The “bride” was checked out for any harm, and it appears she came out physically unscathed.
It is unclear why or how her mother is involved, or if she received monetary compensation for lending her child out. This is a terrifying situation that she put her child in, and she had no concrete proof that she would be safe. As of now, the mother and the eldest Latvian suspect, 55, have been released. However, the younger Latvian, 24, and the “groom” are suspects of financial fraud. So, they are being held until that is resolved. Those who saw what was happening were shocked. They could not believe the bride was a minor, with one person sharing this:
“We all thought we were going to attend a wedding. Everyone was stunned, no one expected it.”
False Beliefs
The guests who came to Disney were allegedly hired, but it is unclear if there was a stipend for their time. Fortunately, the park was quick-moving and did all they could to ensure the safety of the minor girl. As for those who learned about the child bride incident, they had a lot to say. Many could not believe any parent would traffic their child out like this. More details of what happened will hopefully be released very soon. Everyone is likely curious how this man met the mother and daughter. Furthermore, why did the mother agree to let her child participate in this sick sham?
