Top Places You Do Not Need To Leave A Tip
Getting a valet, having someone carry your bags at a hotel, bringing you a cocktail, restaurants, and salons. These are all core places where tipping has become normalized. If someone does not leave some gratuity, it is almost frowned upon. Yet, where are some places where cash does not need to be dropped? The first is fast food restaurants. These are self-service eateries, so the customer does most of the work. This is also applicable at coffee establishments. Unless it is a sit-down, chic shoppe where there is a waitress, it is not necessary to tip.

Most times, the money that is collected is pooled between everyone. Now, leaving a few dollars once in a while is completely acceptable. However, a venti hot coffee comes in at over $4, so adding in an extra dollar several times a week can break the bank. When staying at a hotel, many visitors feel inclined to tip the housekeeping staff. Yet, is that something that needs to be done? It is clearly a courtesy, and if you are staying a long time and require turndown service daily, maybe leaving some cash is good. At the same time, this service is factored into the bill.

Having furniture delivered soon? You may have extra money on hand for those delivering and setting up. However, that is not needed since the cost of delivery is in the overall bill. Finally, rideshares such as Uber and Lyft ask for tips, but it is unnecessary. The reason for this is that the prices for a ride are already exorbitant, plus there are service fees included. That being said, a super short and easy ride doesn’t need any more money factored on.

Clearly, tipping is optional, and if you choose to still throw a few bucks to those who have helped out, that is fine. There are no clear-cut rules, but this is a breakdown of places where money can be saved. More so, there are ways to show gratitude through actions and words, over breaking out your wallet every five minutes.
