Counting On alum Jim Bob Duggar has been receiving criticism for how he raised his kids. Many people believe that the 59-year-old is one of the key factors in why Josh Duggar’s immoral behavior continued. Some fans are also furious about how he continues to protect his convicted son despite all the horrible things he did. However, some Redditors think Jim Bob’s horrible parenting goes beyond that. Counting On: Jim Bob Duggar Ran Out Of Chances To Defend Josh?
According to reports, Josh’s latest appeal was rejected. The Counting On alum requested a certiorari, in which a higher court reviews the decisions made by a lower court. The Supreme Court denied Josh’s request, and it’s believed that it put the nail in the coffin for his attempts to overturn his case. There are also speculations that Jim Bob has already dropped a hefty sum of money in the hopes of setting his son free. But many people believe he wasted a lot of money, which could’ve been used to support organizations that help child abuse victims.
Jim Bob Accused Of Being Cheap To Kids
Some Counting On fans on Reddit discussed the possibility that Jim Bob is a “cheap” parent. According to the poster, there was almost no scene where they saw the Duggar kids not wearing flip-flops, even during vacations and other trips that may require shoes as proper gear. Others agreed and recalled several instances that prove Jim Bob and Michelle raised their kids without giving them the opportunity to wear decent shoes despite their huge income.

Jim Bob hasn’t been active on social media since the CSAM arrest of his son, Josh, in April 2021. However, the Counting On alum often participates in family events and other celebrations. One of his latest appearances was during Jed and Katey’s gender reveal party, in which everyone learned that the married couple is having twin baby girls.
Some fans have also noticed that Jim Bob Duggar has lost some weight. Some suggest that he’s been living a healthy lifestyle, while others think it came from the stress he’s been suffering since his son’s conviction.
