My 600-lb Life alum Charity Pierce had one of the most devastating stories in the show. She suffered from a deadly illness while also trying her best to shed pounds. Her mother suffered brain cancer, putting a big bump in her journey. She appeared in the show at 778 lbs. Her situation also got more complicated as the sores in her body began to cause infections. But the former TLC star didn’t give up and sought Dr. Now’s help. Since then, Charity has begun to make drastic changes to her life. Keep reading to see her incredible transformation.
My 600-lb Life: Charity Pierce’s Challenging 12-month Mark
Most patients of Dr. Now from the show give updates about their journey after 12 months. However, Charity had some ups and downs during her program. When she was approved for bariatric surgery, her mother passed away. This brought her back to her unhealthy habits of binge eating to cope with pain. Fortunately, she was able to bring herself back on track and eventually proceeded with the operation.
Dr. Now removed 57 lbs of mass in her leg, allowing her to walk around much better. The strict diet and regular exercise also helped the My 600-lb Life alum shed 282 pounds. Her last reported weight was 496.6 lbs.
Charity Suffers From Kidney Cancer
After her successful weight loss journey, Charity shared heartbreaking news about her condition in March 2020. According to the former My 600-lb Life star, she found out during Christmas that she has kidney cancer. She also experienced a lot of anxiety and panic attacks as she remembered her mother, who passed away from cancer.
Charity Pierce revealed having one of her kidneys removed. She also said that she’s been recovering since her major operation. The TLC alum has not opened up about her condition since. But she returned to Facebook this year and has shared pictures of herself looking healthy.
My 600-lb Life: Charity Pierce Is Now Living Happily As A Grandparent
Charity has been living happily since her kidney removal. Most of her FB photos indicate that she spends most of her time with her daughter and granddaughter. In March 2023, her daughter, Charly, revealed that she’s expecting her second child, due in October.
Charly loves to join in her mother’s workout routines as well. Some fans also commend her efforts to stay by her mother’s side throughout her journey. On the other hand, Charity Pierce has been thankful to Dr. Now. She even has the surgeon set as her cover photo on her Facebook page.
