Counting On alum Jim Bob Duggar has been a supportive father, especially when it comes to his married children. He has been known to transfer properties to his adult kids after they marry. He is also always there to greet his newest grandbabies. However, there have been speculations that the father-of-19 has favoritism, and one kid has received a gift that’s hard to compare amongst the others.

Counting On fans have seen Jim Bob’s love for his children throughout the years. Even outside the reality show, the 57-year-old father has been generous to them. Back in 2021, the former TLC star gave his son, Justin, a mobile home for $1 for a “good head start” after getting married to Claire Spivey at the age of 18. Additionally, Michelle’s husband loved to come up with family trips before Josh got arrested for CSAM. Though some think he went too far in supporting his disgraced son during his trials, especially with all the pieces of evidence against him.
Jim Bob’s Favorite Child?
There are speculations that Jim Bob has a favorite child. It’s none other than Jed Duggar who received what may be the biggest blessing compared to his siblings. The Duggar parents purchased a $365,000 house just a few miles from their Tontitown property in 2020. However, reports claimed that the property was later given to him for free. The reason behind it remains unclear. It’s also known that the 24-year-old Counting On alum barely speaks up about his parents or defends them in controversies, such as the recent Amazon Prime Video docuseries. Nevertheless, fans think it’s a sign that the Duggar father will always have his arms wide open for his children.
Counting On: Jim Bob Duggar Had Troubles With His Daughter-In-Law?
Jim Bob opened his doors for Anna and her kids when Josh was sent to jail. But the 35-year-old mother allegedly had an argument with the Duggar family patriarch, leading to her departure. The former reality TV star’s whereabouts remain a mystery. An insider claimed she’s been in Texas with some of her kids. Her oldest daughter, Mackynzie, was also spotted with the Spiveys in Texas, fueling rumors that she scattered some of her kids to different in-laws and siblings to help with her expenses.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar last resurfaced in June when they addressed Shiny Happy People‘s controversial claims. Since then, the Counting On alums have been avoiding the cameras but still participate in family get-togethers.
