A fake Gabby Petito Instagram account surfaced that has allegedly been linked to Brian Laundrie’s mom. What the fake Instagram account tried to accomplish only seemed to further support the theory that it was linked to someone in Brian’s family.
In a TikTok video that is making rounds on multiple social media platforms, one individual dug deep into this fake Gabby Petito Instagram account to see what could be determined.
Fake Gabby Petito Instagram Surfaces: Claims She’s Alive
Now, the fake account has a username/handle that mirrors Gabby’s actual account with an extra “o” added to the end. This false profile was first spotted commenting on Brian Laundrie’s Instagram account. The account noted Gabby Petito was alive and well. And, it begged people to stop bothering Brian Laundrie and his family.
Turns out, the false profile also posted a series of Instagram Stories. On these Instagram Stories, this account doubled down on the fact that Gabby was alive and well. Noticeably, the profile continued to defend Brian Laundrie. And, it encouraged people to leave both Brian and his family alone.
A deeper dive on the profile reveals that it only followers a single person on Instagram: Brian Laundrie. Presently, the account doesn’t have any posts on its profile. The profile, however, remains active and is still being maintained by someone as it continues to approve followers.
Brian Laundrie’s Mom Linked To False Profile
The TikTok user that did a deep dive into the false Instagram account pointed out it felt like the account spent more time defending Brian than talking about where Gabby was or what happened to her. The TikTok user continued to point out that it just didn’t make sense for someone who had disappeared to return to civilization and immediately make a second Instagram profile.
Continuing to look into the account, the TikTok user tried to recover the password. While she had no plans of getting into the account, she was hoping to learn more about who created it. After trying to recover the password, she discovered the email used to create the account.
After digging into the email that created the account, it was discovered the phone number that created the fake Instagram profile matches up with Brian Laundrie’s mom. While the search didn’t reveal the full number, it did reveal the number ended in the same two digits as Brian’s mother.
Are His Parents Covering For Him?
Now, the account being linked to his mother makes sense. Brian is the only person the account follows. And, the account has spent a lot of time trying to get people to stop blaming him for Gabby Petito’s disappearance.
Brian’s parents Christopher and Roberta Laundrie have a lot of eyes on them as the internet believes they are covering for their son. One big internet theory is they waited so long to report him missing to give him a head start on getting away.

Ive been following the real Gabby Petito page on Insta, and late last night noticed that Brian hadnt “liked” a post of hers for weeks. But then when i looked at the account again this evening, it looks like he went in and liked them all sometime today. If he is doing this shit while hiding, cant the police or FBI track hia phone and find him?
They obviously have something to do with it and if people don’t see that then I’m sorry but your stupid and need to open your eyes. They have been covering for him since DAY one!!! I honestly find it sick and they need to be arrested
