Counting On fans have been wondering why the Duggars never had a courtship with the Bates. Apparently, both families practice courting and have been friends for a long time. Unfortunately, none of them were able to find a spark to one another. However, there are rumors back then stating that Lawson Bates had a relationship with Jana Duggar. Sadly, it all ended when Lawson announced that he’s in a relationship with an actress named Tiffany Espensen.
Why Did The Duggars & Bates Never Have a Courtship?
The Duggars and Bates are two of the most popular families in TLC. Both parties have their own reality show, which also features the same storyline. Apparently, both families became popular for having so many kids. Both of them have 19 kids. Fans also find it awesome that they both have the same amount of kids but in opposite genders. Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar have nine girls and ten boys, while Gil Bates and Kelly Bates have ten girls and nine boys. However, despite the similarities, none of their kids entered courtship. It appears that the Bates and Duggars want to remain family friends without any intentions of having their kids married to one another.
Jana & Lawson’s Rumored Relationship
Counting On star Jana Duggar has been rumored to have a relationship with Lawson Bates. Apparently, reports claimed that Lawson has been visiting the Duggars, mainly his “close friend”, Jana. However, as time goes by, fans speculated that there’s something going on between the two. Sadly, the rumors ended when Lawson revealed his new girlfriend on social media. However, the rumors about Jana finding the right guy didn’t end there. At this point, there are rumors stating that Jana is in a “secret relationship” with a pilot named Stepehen Wissmann. There are also reports stating that Stephen was seen sitting close to Jana during Jed Duggar’s wedding.
The Duggars Are On The Verge Of Ending, While The Bates Continue To Thrive
Counting On fans have been debating recently about the possible cancelation of the show. Apparently, reports claim that the show might be canceled due to Josh Duggar’s child porn arrest. However, some fans are defending the show as Josh was never a part of it. Meanwhile, the Bates family has been thriving on their reality show. The big family is currently on their 10th season, and several episodes are still on the line before their season ends.
