NBA: Joel Embiid Suffers Knee Injury
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid has been putting on a show during their game against the Washington Wizards. However, during the 3rd quarter, Embiid landed awkwardly after his dunk. He hit the floor twisting in pain while holding his knees. After that, Embiid had to leave the game to check his knees. The 76ers also felt a slight relief after seeing Embiid walking it off by himself. However, the team just released unfortunate news that Embiid just suffered a left knee injury and will be out for two weeks. Meanwhile, 76ers fans are relieved to hear that it wasn’t a season-ending injury. However, Embiid will most likely get removed from the top spot of this year’s MVP race.
Embiid Leaves The First Spot In MVP Race
Joel Embiid has been dominating throughout the season. Fans are also impressed with how he improved his shooting from the 3-point line. However, Embiid stands out the most in his low-post game. Apparently, players have been struggling on defending Embiid inside the paint. He has very quick footwork despite being a big man. Embiid also added step-back to his arsenal, making him one of the most dangerous offensive players in the NBA today. His incredible performances also led him to the first spot of this year’s MVP race, followed by LeBron James and Nikola Jokic. However, fans are expecting him to leave his spot after suffering from a left knee injury.
NBA: Will LeBron James Get His Fifth MVP?
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is still one of the best players in the league today. At the age of 36, James is still dominating on both ends of the floor. However, he won his last NBA MVP award way back in 2013. Despite playing on a different level every year, James still fails to grab his elusive fifth MVP. Now, with all the speculations that Embiid will drop in the first spot of the MVP race, fans think that this is the perfect opportunity for James to finally grab his fifth MVP. If James won this year’s MVP, he will become the very first player in the league to have 5 MVPs, surpassing NBA Legend Wilt Chamberlain, who has four.
