Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez fans were shocked this week when news of their alleged split hit the internet. Dozens of reports began to circulate about the couple’s decision to end their engagement. However, that may not be the case at all.
According to TMZ, JLo and ARod opted to do some damage control over the weekend. Just hours after the break-up rumors surfaced, the couple released a statement to the outlet and proudly declared that they had not gone their separate ways. The duo claimed to be very much together. However, they did admit that their relationship has hit a rough patch and that they have some issues to work on going forward.

“All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things,” the pair confirmed in their statement. Meanwhile, the pair aren’t currently in the same country. The former New York Yankee baseball player is residing in Miami, while the singer/actress is busy filming a new movie in the Dominican Republic.
“He’s now in Miami getting ready for baseball season, and she’s filming her movie in the Dominican Republic,” a source tells Page Six of the couple’s geographical split.
The fan-favorite couple has been dating for four years. They’ve always seemed to have a close and loving relationship. They’ve also blended their families, with both having two children from previous marriages. Sadly, it seems that things have taken a turn for the pair since getting engaged in March 2019.

While denying the break-up rumors, Jen and Alex claimed that their issues have nothing to do with a third party in their relationship. Of course, fans may remember that Rodriguez was accused of cheating on Lopez just weeks ago when reports surfaced that he may have been engaging in a secret relationship with Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy.
After the allegations began, Rodriguez claimed not to know LeCroy. However, Madison told a very different story. She says that the pair do know one another, and have spoken on the phone. Meanwhile, she claims that nothing physical ever happened between them and that they had never met up.
They’ve Gone To Couples Therapy In The Past
It appears that JLo and ARod’s issues have been happening for a while. During a recent interview, Lopez claimed that she and her fiance had visited a therapist together during their quarantine.
“I think it was really helpful for us in our relationship,” she said at the time. She also dished on the pair’s postponed wedding. Jennifer didn’t seem to be in a hurry to walk down the aisle with Alex.
Only time will tell if Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez will be able to work through their problems and keep their blended family together, or if they’ll be another Hollywood casualty.
