Joy Duggar documents four-year engagement anniversary
On her Instagram page, Joy shared a few photos of herself and Austin from when they got engaged. Austin popped the question on March 3, 2017. When fans saw the throwback pictures, they started talking about how sweet the photos are. They love getting to look back at the couple’s relationship.
When they got engaged, Joy explained how it all went down. She said, “We were going to go horse riding, and I decided to bring Johannah and Jennifer along … to be the chaperones for this date. Austin made this day really, really special and then he asked me to marry him, and I said yes.”
About the engagement, Austin said, “I knew we were ready for this next step because everything fell into place. … Everything was just perfect.”
After the pair got engaged, Joy was excited that they got to hold hands. Per the family’s courtship rules, they had to wait until they were engaged to start holding hands.
Austin says, “I feel like engagement is more special because we’re committed to each other now, and we’re just moving forward to the day that we get married, and it’s exciting.”

Now, Joy and Austin are married and have two kids. They have come a long way from that day when they got engaged four years ago. They share 3-year-old Gideon and 6-month-old Evelyn. Between having their two kids, the couple sadly lost a baby halfway through Joy’s pregnancy.
Though that was a hard time for the couple, they made it through and are stronger because of it.
As Entertainment Chronicle previously reported, the couple seems to adore their kids. The Forsyth family is a favorite among Duggar fans. Fans feel that the couple is authentic and very likable.
