The Los Angeles Lakers went down to the 3rd spot in power rankings. They were dethroned by the Los Angeles Clippers this week. However, despite getting dethroned, the Lakers are still looking good and remain focused on their goals. The Lakers have been receiving criticisms due to their huge moves during the offseason. They traded a lot of their veteran players who helped them win a championship last year. Now, fans think that the Clippers will finally beat the Lakers due to their lineup changes. Apparently, the Lakers-Clippers matchup is one of the most highly-anticipated rivalries this year. Fans often call it “Battle for L.A.” However, Lakers reserve Jared Dudley thinks that it’s disrespectful for fans to think that Clippers’ Paul George is on the same level as LeBron James.
NBA: Jared Dudley Says The Lakers Are Motivated From The Disrespectful Comments
Los Angeles Lakers reserve Jared Dudley wrote a book where he talks about fans thinking that the Clippers are the team to beat in L.A. He also said that it’s not fair for Paul George to put his name up in the same level as LeBron James and Anthony Davis. According to Jared, he’s fine with Kawhi Leonard’s dedication to winning a championship. He also said that he respects Patrick Beverley’s way of trash talking. However, he can’t accept that Paul George is comparing himself to the league’s future Hall of Famers. “But we think it’s disrespectful for Paul George, who hasn’t won, to put himself on the level of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. This motivates us”, Dudley said.
Paul George Responds To Dudley’s Statements
Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George opened up about Jared Dudley’s statements against him. During an interview, George said, “God bless you, Jared Dudley. I don’t know what it is. Dudes love throwing my name in stuff.” Paul’s response comes after his 36-point performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Meanwhile, fans reacted to Dudley’s statements against George on social media. One fan said, “What has Jared Dudley ever done for the NBA?” Another fan also said, “Who does Dudley think he is.” At this point, the Lakers have yet to give Dudley a long playing time. There are rumors stating that the Lakers are looking forward to trading for Bradley Beal and fans think that Dudley might be included in the deal.
NBA: The Nets Are Now A Big Threat For The Lakers
Despite all the criticisms, the Los Angeles Lakers are still heavily favored to win a championship this year. However, a lot of teams are showing signs that they’re ready to face the Lakers in the playoffs. One of which is the Brooklyn Nets. Apparently, James Harden’s arrival in the Nets gave them a huge boost. They’ve been winning a lot of games and their team chemistry increased significantly. The Nets are currently led by Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, which are considered by many as the league’s most dangerous Big 3. Aside from that, Durant has been dominating despite coming off of an Achilles injury. He’s currently the second in the NBA points per game with 30.8.
