Get ready, Marvel fans! Deadpool 3 is confirmed to be within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But audiences beware — it comes with an R rating that many parents aren’t too thrilled about. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige recently opened up a little more about the upcoming film project.
Fans Are Excited For Deadpool 3 — But They Could Be Waiting A Very Long Time
“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan [Reynolds]’s overseeing a script right now,” Feige said to Collider in an interview.
But unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see it in theaters.

“It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun,” Feige continued. “Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”
Filming on Deadpool 3 won’t even begin until 2022 at the earliest. It could very well be 2023 or 2024 before Deadpool 3 hits theaters. But by then, the novel Coronavirus pandemic may be under control and fans can safely enjoy Marvel films on the big screen once again.
But until then, you can still follow the Deadpool Twitter account for an occasional laugh.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe Continues
But don’t feel too down — Marvel Studios still has plenty of awesome films planned between now and the release of Deadpool 3. Right now, the studios are already filming Thor 4 and Spider-Man 3. Reports say that Doctor Strange 2, Black Panther 2, and Captain Marvel 2 are well on their way.
It’s hard to say exactly what will happen with Black Panther 2 following the death of leading man Chadwick Boseman. However, Kevin Feige did say that they had no plans to recast the role of T’Challa.
“So much of the comics and that first movie is the world of Wakanda. Wakanda is a place to further explore with characters and different subcultures,” he said to Deadline. “This was always and initially the primary focus of the next story. We’re not going to have a CG Chadwick and we’re not recasting T’Challa.”
Chadwick Boseman died on August 28, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.
Another thing Marvel fans can look forward to is the possibility of X-Men in upcoming Avengers films. It’s been a very messy situation over the last several years, but Marvel and their parent company Disney now have the rights. Keep your eyes peeled — this won’t be something you want to miss.
