Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly have “no regrets” about moving to the U.S. The couple is still enjoying their lives across the pond. Just a year ago, Harry and Meghan announced their departure from the British Royal Family. In dramatic fashion, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said they chose to step down from their senior royal duties.
The couple first made headlines on January 8 when they announced they would be stepping down from their roles. This led many to speculate what led to that decision. Was there a rift within the family? Did the British tabloids get to them? Royal fans were curious to know what the couple planned to do moving forward.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still feel good about their big move
An insider told ET Online that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are enjoying their lives in the U.S. The source told the outlet that the duo has “no regrets” about their big decision. While their announcement took place in January 2020, they didn’t leave the royal family until March. Since then, Harry and Meghan finally settled in Montecito, California, where they celebrated their first Christmas.
“[They] feel very rewarded from their work,” the source told the outlet on Friday, December 31.
The two have no plans on returning to the U.K. – especially amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But they are currently mulling over some decisions. There are some future events that the couple would like to attend. But it’s unclear whether any of those events will take place this year.
“Decisions will be made on a case by case basis and see where the medical protocols are around the time they decide to return,” the source continued. “Certainly, the Duke and Duchess have their eye on the Invictus Games, Trooping The Colour, and Prince Phillip’s birthday in June, and the unveiling of the Princess of Wales statue.”

“I am my mother’s son.
And I am our son’s mother.
Together we bring you #Archewell”There’s power in this opening statement. Archewell is about legacy building – building on what’s been passed down from their mothers to create a legacy for their son.

Back in October, another source told ET Online that Harry has no plans to return to his native country “anytime soon.”
“Things can obviously change, if there’s a concern about family health, but they are not hopping over the pond anytime imminently,” the source said.
Instead, the royals continue to follow the “social isolation guidelines” amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Duke and Duchess of Sussex share New Year’s Eve message
On New Year’s Eve, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle posted a thoughtful message for 2021 on their Archewell website. The post included a childhood photo of Harry on his late mom, Princess Diana’s, shoulders, along with a childhood photo of Meghan with her mother, Doria Ragland.
“I am my mother’s son. And I am our son’s mother,” the message read. “Together we bring you Archewell. We believe in the best of humanity. Because we have seen the best of humanity. We have experienced compassion and kindness, From our mothers and strangers alike [sic].”
The couple just launched their new podcast, Archewell Audio. In the first episode, their 1-year-old son, Archie, made an appearance. The episode also included audio messages from celebrity guests as they reflected on 2020.
