NBA: Houston Rockets Will Begin Season With James Harden

Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden has been making headlines after showing his interest in getting traded to a contender team. However, the Rockets doesn’t seem to show any interest in trading Harden. Aside from that, some of Harden’s preferred trade destinations have also shown their interest in obtaining the 2017-2018 NBA MVP.
However, there are also some who are not interested in obtaining Harden. Now, the Rockets are showing signs that they want to keep Harden for the rest of the season. Some of Harden’s teammates even sent him a strong message during their first preseason game.
NBA: Houston Rockets Might Keep James Harden
The Houston Rockets doesn’t seem to rush unloading James Harden to the team. Now, he’s expected to play with the Rockets next season. The Rockets recently started their first preseason game. Apparently, Harden cannot play after being required for six negative Covid-19 test results. Harden has been raising his voice to get traded to a contender team. One of which is the Brooklyn Nets. However, there are reports stating that the Rockets won’t trade Harden to the Nets without obtaining Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving. Due to this, the chances of Harden landing on the Nets dramatically decrease. Despite wanting a trade, some of Harden’s teammates sent him a strong message that they can still become a contender team.
Rockets Sends Strong Message After Winning First Preseason Game
The Houston Rockets started the preseason against the Chicago Bulls. John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins went for a combined 27 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds in only 34 minutes. The impressive outing of Wall and Cousins seem to send a message to their teammate, James Harden, who sits out for the entire game due to this pending Covid-19 test results. It seems that Wall and Cousins believe that the Rockets can be a contender team just like what Harden wants. The Rockets defeated the Bulls in the preseason opener with a score of 125-104.
NBA: Other Teams Showing Interest On Harden
James Harden is one of the best scorers in the league today. Due to this, a lot of teams are willing to have him. One of which is the Milwaukee Bucks, led by the reigning MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo. According to Antetokounmpo, he’d welcome another superstar in his team, showing his interest in partnering with Harden. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers revealed that they’re not interested in trading Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons for James Harden.
The NBA 2020-21 season will begin on Tuesday, December 22.
