Mama June: From Not To Hot is full steam ahead for Season 4, with the premiere episode airing on Friday night. The show, called “Family Crisis,” is bound to bring a lot of drama to the small screen.
Since Mama June is nowhere to be seen, someone has to pick up the slack. That leaves a lot of responsibility for the family. Most of that is turned over to 20-year-old Lauryn/Pumpkin.
Because of this, the woman formerly and currently known as Pumpkin says her life completely changed. Lauryn sits on a well-worn couch in WE’s Mama June: From Not To Hot preview video. She says her life as a young mom has done “a full 360.”
Mama June: From Not To Hot Brings The Family — Minus June — Together
“It’s been a ride,” she admits.
Still, she admits to enjoying having the family together under the same roof. This includes her little sister, Alana (best known as Honey Boo Boo). The teen has joined Pumpkin’s little clan. Pumpkin says Alana helps out around the house.
In one scene, Pumpkin puts her own little girl in the kitchen sink for a bath. That’s when she’s reminded by her older sister that there is a bathroom on the second floor of the house where they all live.
Then Lauryn talks about how everyone has matured. Just then, she and Jennifer are seen throwing what look like spitballs at each other.
The Mama June: From Not To Hot Premiere Includes A Call From Mama
Pumpkin also speaks about “more real stuff” being part of their lives. She’s heard as a clip shows the family sitting around the dinner table.
Lauryn is on the phone when, from across the table, her older sister yells.
“Hi June. Are you ever going to come home to your kids?”
With her phone away from her ear, Pumpkin shushes Jennifer.
Pumpkin explains that the call from June was the first time in a very long time that the family has heard from Mama. Then she seems down that Jennifer had to open “her big mouth.” Apparently, June hung up on Pumpkin.
During another one of her monologues, Pumpkin says something meaningful from her perch on the couch.
“I guess if I were going to see Mama today, I think the only thing I would say is why do you continue to let us down?”
She doesn’t miss a beat before claiming yet one more thing about what’s coming up for her and all the others.
“This is going to be a good season.”
