The 2020-2021 NBA season is just right the corner. Teams are already preparing to finally get back on track. A lot of teams have also made huge deals and trades during this year’s free agency. One of which is the Washington Wizards, who traded John Wall to the Houston Rockets for Russell Westbrook. Aside from that, the Los Angeles Clippers are also planning to get back on track with their motivated players. The NBA also released new updates regarding game arenas as well as new health and safety guidelines.
NBA: Russell Westbrook Ready For The New Challenge
During a live interview, Russell Westbrook shares his excitement about his new team and his new backcourt partner, Bradley Beal. According to him, “Brad is a superstar talent. He proved that and showed that last year with what he had. And he’s only going to get better. My job is to come in here and continue to uplift him and push him to be better.” Westbrook is one of the best scoring point guards in the league today. However, he shines the most when he starts involving his teammates.
Apparently, Westbrook holds the record for the most consecutive triple-doubles with 11. His scoring ability and passing make him the best fit for the Washington Wizards. Westbrook also said that he’s a different person in the court. According to him, “When I’m on the floor, you’re right, I don’t have any friends, I’m not trying to be friendly.” Will Westbrook’s determination bring the Wizards to the finals next season?
Kawhi Leonard Motivated To Reach The Top
The Los Angeles Clippers went to a heartbreaking Game 7 loss to the Denver Nuggets during the 2020 Western Conference Semifinals. Clippers small forward Kawhi Leonard took some shots at his team as they exit the bubble. He questioned the decision-making of the Clippers as well as their executions. Leonard has been a very consistent all-around player throughout his career. However, the intense defense of the Nuggets forced him to miss a lot of his shots in Game 7.
Now, Kawhi is more determined to get back on track with the Clippers. According to him, “I’m definitely motivated. I want to win. I’m doing steps to maintain my body to stay ahead of the curve. The road going to a championship is hard. But I love the process.” With the Clippers hiring Tyronn Lue as their new head coach, fans can expect huge improvements in the team next season.
NBA: Players Will Have Limited Outdoor Activities
The NBA released new health and safety guidelines for its teams ahead of the new season. The updated guidelines were released days after two teams revealed that some of their players have tested positive for Covid-19. According to the NBA, players and staff are no longer allowed to go to bars, lounges or clubs, live entertainment or game venues, public gyms, spas, public pools. The NBA also prohibited indoor gatherings with more than 15 people. Furthermore, players that want to eat outdoors will need to stay in private rooms at restaurants. Players that violate the health and safety guidelines will face educational sessions, fines, and suspensions.
The NBA 2020-21 season will begin on Tuesday, December 22.
