Tim Tebow is living his best life! He has a gorgeous wife, a long legacy in sports and a house full of dogs! What more could a man ask for? During a recent interview, he opened up about if having kids is in his future.
Tim Tebow Married to Former Miss Universe
Tim Tebow is well-known for his life outside of sports. During his NFL heyday, he was open about his deeply religious views. In fact, it was widely reported that he remained a virgin until the age of 32. What happened when he was 32? He got married.
In January, 2020, the Heisman Trophy winner wed Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, formerly Miss Universe. She won Miss Universe in 2017.
Before marrying, the couple never lived together, so quarantine was certainly an adjustment! Speaking to Extra, Tim Tebow called the lockdown a “blessing in a lot of ways.”
Such as having the free time to raise a puppy… or three?
Couple Adopted 3 Adorable Puppies in March
If you follow Tim Tebow on social media, you know he is a dog lover. In November of 2019, he had to make the tough decision to put his best buddy, Bronco, to sleep. He’d had the dog since 2010, PEOPLE reports.
The athlete was clearly feeling the loss of his companion. In March, Tim Tebow and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters were looking to adopt another dog. But dogs need friends, too! The couple ended up with not 1, not 2, but THREE puppies at the same time!
The lucky dogs are Paris (Dalmatian,) Kobe, (Golden Retriever,) and Chunk, a Bernese Mountain Dog. Those are some pretty large breeds!
Did the pitter-patter of twelve paws change the couple’s stance on having kids?
Do They Still Want Kids?
It’s a question every newlywed couple gets – “When are you having kids?” It’s usually women who get that question, but Extra host Nate Burleson is an equal-opportunity interviewer. During their recent chat, Nate wanted to know if the couple plan to have children.
They might need a bigger house, because they DO want children. However, they aren’t in any rush. Tim Tebow said “when the time is right,” they do hope to have children.
In the meantime, they have three big dogs to keep them busy. And Tim Tebow is about to get back on the field.
Tim Tebow Talks Future With Mets
The college football star went on to play for the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, and a few other NFL teams. In 2016, he decided to try another sport: baseball. That same year, he signed a contract with the New York Mets’ minor league baseball team.
Unfortunately, he missed most of the 2019 season due to an injury. The coronavirus pandemic interrupted the 2020 minor league season. But he’s ready for a fresh start in 2021. While he doesn’t know how much longer he can play, he “still loves competing.”
It seems likely that he will return to Syracuse Mets in Upstate New York when the minor league resumes next year.
