Barack Obama Wants Drake To Play Him In A Movie

Former President Barack Obama loves the idea of Drake portraying him in a movie. He’s currently promoting his new book, A Promised Land, which is available now. Obama has been actively promoting through various interviews. Of course, most of the questions have been about the coronavirus pandemic and Donald Trump’s presidency.

But there have been other questions. Since Obama came out with his own memoir, would he have it turned into a movie? If so, who would play him in a movie? Obama says he loves the idea of the “Hotline Bling” singer portraying him in a biopic.

Barack Obama would love it if Drake played him in a movie

The 44th president sat down for an interview with Speedy Morman of Complex. One question that arose during the interview was who Barack Obama would like to play him in a movie. He chose the Canadian rapper, which he likes a lot. Not only can Drake rap, but he can act too.

“I will say this: Drake seems to be able to do anything he wants,” Obama said. “You know what, Drake has – more importantly, I think – my household’s stamp of approval. I suspect Malia and Sasha would be just fine with it.”

So far, Obama’s new book sold over 1.7 million copies in North America. It wouldn’t be any surprise if a movie came out of it. Obama’s memoir came out on Tuesday, November 17. It beat out Michelle Obama’s book, Becoming.

Her memoir only sold 725,000 copies in its first week. It’s doing so well that it’s on track to become the best-selling presidential memoir in modern history, according to The Daily Mail.

Former president reveals why some rappers support Trump

In another interview with The Altantic, Barack Obama explained why some rappers publicly endorsed Donald Trump. Some of those rappers include Kanye West, Kodak Black, Lil Pump, and Lil Wayne. However, Kanye pulled back on his support for Trump. Instead, he wants to become the next president of the United States.

“It’s interesting – people are writing about the fact that Trump increased his support among Black men and the occasional rapper who supported Trump,” Obama explained. “I have to remind myself that if you listen to rap music, it’s all about the bling, the women, the money. A lot of rap videos are using the same measures of what it means to be successful as Donald Trump.”

He feels that hip-hop culture trickles into politics and vice versa. Obama previously invited various rappers to the White House during his presidency. He’s met with Kendrick Lamar, Jazy Z, Wale, among others. Obama is also well-respected among rappers.

This was common when Obama won the election. But since Trump became president, there was a shift in hip-hop culture. More of them started to show support for Trump, thinking he could win over the Black vote. However, Biden ended up winning the 2020 presidential election on November 3.
