Bringing Up Bates: How Are Trace & Lydia Bates Today?
Trace and Lydia have been living happily as parents. The Bringing Up Bates star likes to share every little milestone of their son, Ryker. Recently, Lydia shared a sweet clip with her son as he turns 11 months old. “How is he almost one year old?! It is coming way too fast,” she said. Many were also surprised to see how big Ryker has become and how he’s starting to look more like his grandfather, Gil. But amid all the positive things, Lydia recently revealed that she’s been dealing with a health condition for years.
Lydia Shares Shocking 10-Year Illness
Lydia recently shared a 25-minute YouTube video explaining her rare condition. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, she appears to suffer from a “water allergy,” specifically “Aquagenic Pruritus.” Lydia explained that her skin flares up after contacting any type of liquid. She even said that even sweat triggers her allergy, making it difficult for her to exercise. Trace’s wife later explained that her skin was getting sunburned. She described it as ants crawling through her body and stinging like a needle. Lydia Bates revealed that her illness has been on and off for months, though it got worse a couple of months ago.
Bringing Up Bates: Did Trace & Lydia Bates Find A Cure?
Later in the vlog, Lydia and Trace revealed that they’ve been looking for a cure and have been in touch with a dermatologist. Moments later, the video fast-forwards to the Bringing Up Bates stars’ meeting with their dermatologist, who confirmed that Lydia Bates was indeed suffering from Aquagenic Pruritus. They were told that there are several ways to help treat the illness, though it was said that it’s an internal type of condition, making her recovery more complicated.
Lydia Bates also revealed that stress plays a significant role in triggering her condition. She’s also looking for different types of ointments to help with her skin, but she was told to avoid liquids with scents as much as possible. Trace and Lydia didn’t find a specific medicine to help with the allergy. But many fans pray that Lydia will quickly recover.
