Bringing Up Bates star Kelly Jo Bates has been a busy mom and grandmother. The 57-year-old recently brought her family Mama Jane and Papa Bill’s farm to celebrate the 4th of July. Many fans were also glad that Kelly Jo still shared updates about her family despite the cancellation of their show in 2021. Bringing Up Bates: Gil & Kelly Jo Bates Visit Mama Jane & Papa Bill
Kelly Jo recently took to social media to share pictures from their trip to South Carolina to visit Mama Jane and Papa Bill. The Bringing Up Bates star brought some of her kids and grandkids with her. It was also an extra special day as Papa Bill celebrated his 86th birthday. But what caught the attention of many was Gil’s prayer for his dad. In Trace and Lydia’s vlog, Gil prayed, asking God to “unjumble” Papa Bill’s mind so he could be like he used to be with his family, which is an indication that Papa Bill’s dementia is getting worse.
Kelly Jo Gushes Over The Man Who Brought Them Success
In an Instagram post, Kelly Jo shared pictures with a man named Garrett Cook, who worked on UpTV and was the creative director of their show, Bringing Up Bates. According to Kelly Jo Bates, she’s thankful for what Garrett has done for her family. She also added that they still see him regularly as a family. “Although Garrett worked at the home office & only filmed with us for promos, he came to visit us pretty often just to hang out! In fact, he still does, even after the filming has ended!” she added.

Kelly Jo also revealed that Garrett participates in family occasions such as weddings, birthdays, baby showers, and other celebrations. “Garrett is the kind of friend that you know you’ll have for a lifetime! He’s done workouts with us, hikes, painting, boxing, games, & most importantly, he just spends time with us!” she added, before saying that her family loves him so much and will forever treasure all their fun memories with him.
Bringing Up Bates: Kelly Jo Bates About To Welcome New Grandson
Kelly Jo Bates welcomed her 29th grandchild, Weston Slade Smith, in May. But the Bates baby boom is still not that as the Bringing Up Bates star prepares to welcome another grandkid with Tiffany this month. Lawson and Tiffany are expecting to welcome a baby boy. Gil and Kelly Jo will also welcome their 31st and 32nd grandbabies with Esther and Katie later this year. However, Alyssa shocked many viewers after hinting that there may be a 33rd grandchild. In one of her recent vlogs, she asked Mama Jane if she was ready for her 33rd great-grandkid, creating speculation that someone from the family was secretly pregnant.
