Why Josh Duggar’s Possible Jail Time Could Be Worse Than Expected

Could Josh Duggar be in even more trouble if he’s convicted and goes to prison? By now, many people know that Josh was arrested in April. The former TLC star is being accused of possessing child sexual abuse material and will go to trial in July. For now, he’s pleading not guilty. His wife, Anna Duggar, also reportedly believes he’s innocent and has gone so far as to blame Joe Biden for her husband’s arrest.

Right now, Josh is living with a third party as he awaits his trial, and he must stay away from minors. His wife and kids are still able to visit him. At this point, we don’t know whether he’s guilty or innocent. But fans and critics of the family want to know more about his possible sentence.

How bad prison be for Josh Duggar?

If he’s convicted, Josh could spend up to 40 years in prison. He’s facing two charges at up to 20 years and a $250,000 fine each.

While there are mixed feelings about whether this sentence is long enough or serious enough, it sounds like his time in prison could be worse than expected. In many cases, inmates whose victims were children are treated worse by other inmates. Since Josh allegedly downloaded photos and videos of children as young as 18 months old, he may be in big trouble when he gets to jail.

Josh being somewhat of a public figure could also influence how the other inmates treat him. This case has captured the attention of fans, critics, and people who weren’t familiar with the family before. It’s possible that the inmates and guards are already aware of the case and know some of the details.

Because of this, he could be placed in solitary confinement for his safety. But this has been described as “psychological torture.” So, this could have a huge impact on Josh too.

Of course, at this point, no one knows whether Josh is actually guilty and if he will end up going to prison. But many fans and critics of the family think he’s guilty and hope that he does his time. We will have to wait until July to find out whether Josh is guilty and what his sentence is.

So, do you think Josh Duggar will have a bad time in prison due to his alleged crimes and his name? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. While I truly sympathize with the family, most likely Josh is probably guilty. According to previous reports, the passwords used for these pornagraphy sites is the same passwords he used for his bank accounts (a strong indicator that it was most likely him). And the IP address was traced back to his office computer at this car dealership. It is such a sad situation. I love the Duggar family and enjoy watching their families grow on TV. I’m praying for them all.
