Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been trying his best to carry the team during the absence of Anthony Davis. However, it appears that the Lakers are going to face serious problems in the upcoming days as James suffered a scary injury. Apparently, James had his right ankle twisted during their game against the Atlanta Hawks. Now, the Lakers currently have no superstars in their lineup, which is bad news for the fans as the NBA head towards the playoffs.
NBA: LeBron James Suffers Right Ankle Injury
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James started strong during their game against the Atlanta Hawks. However, earlier in the 2nd quarter, James lost the ball and tried to pass to Alex Caruso. Unfortunately, he ended up falling and starts screaming in pain.
James can be seen holding his right ankle multiple times while rolling on the floor. He later walked off the court limping. James’s frustration can be seen as he left the game. He even threw one of the chairs to show how much he’s frustrated with his injury. James didn’t return to the game, causing the Lakers to lose against the Hawks with a score of 94-99.
Will James Return?
At this point, the Los Angeles Lakers have yet to reveal when will LeBron James return. According to reports, James suffered a high-ankle sprain and will be out indefinitely. However, ankle sprains usually take six weeks to three months of recovery.
This could be very dangerous as the Lakers are looking forward to defending their championship. James now joins Anthony Davis in the Lakers’ injured list. Meanwhile, the Lakers previously revealed that Davis will take another three weeks of recovery to make sure he can play at a very high level.
NBA: James Kept His Legendary Streak Going
LeBron James has been keeping a legendary streak for quite some time now. Apparently, James is currently the only player who was more than 1,000 consecutive 10-point games. Despite his unfortunate injury against the Atlanta Hawks, James still managed to score 10 points in only 11 minutes of playing. At this point, James currently has 1,036 consecutive 10-point games.
Fans are also expecting James to keep his record going until he retires, which could be one of the most insane records in the NBA. Meanwhile, fans have been debating on who’s going to win this season’s MVP. Apparently, Joel Embiid suffered from an unfortunate injury which led him to lose the first spot in the MVP race. Some think that James deserves to win his fifth MVP. However, others also think that Giannis Antetokounmpo still deserves to earn his third consecutive MVP.
The Los Angeles Lakers will face the Pheonix Suns on March 22, 2021.
