The defending champions Los Angles Lakers continue to dominate early in the season. The team has been undefeated in their road games and it seems like they want to keep it that way. It also appears that the Lakers aren’t fazed about the arrival of the new Big 3 in the Brooklyn Nets. They’ve been very focused on their game, showing signs that they’re going for a back-to-back championship run. LeBron James is also showing no signs of aging. He’s been carrying the Lakers throughout the season, giving him the 1st spot in the 2021 NBA MVP ladder.
NBA: LeBron James Dominates Against The Bucks
LeBron James puts on a show in their game against the Milwaukee Bucks. During the first quarter, LeBron was on fire from the 3-point line. He also scored several turn-around jumpers. However, Giannis Antetokounmpo went on a hot scoring streak, making the game very close throughout the first and second half. Unfortunately for Giannis, he wasn’t able to stop the James-Davis duo. During the 4th quarter with 16 seconds left, James delivered a vicious slam dunk to seal the game. James scored 34 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists in 38 minutes of playing. The Lakers defeated the Bucks with a score of 113-106. The Lakers’ win puts them in an 8-0 run in road games, which is their franchise-best record.
LeBron Shows He Can Stop The Two-Time Reigning MVP
LeBron James shows that he’s still one of the best defenders in the league today. He managed to stop two-time reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo from his scoring streak. Apparently, Giannis is trying to be the second player since Bill Russell to win three-straight MVP Awards. However, James has been blocking his way from reaching a historical milestone. At this point, James is currently the 1st on the 2021 NBA MVP ladder. James is also heavily favored to win this year’s MVP. However, new contenders for this year’s MVP Award are rising. One of which is Kevin Durant, who’s been dominating despite coming off from an Achilles injury.
NBA: NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal Believes That The Lakers Will Repeat As Champions
The Los Angeles Lakers have only one goal in their minds and that is to defend their championship. A lot of fans are rooting for them including former NBA players. One of which is Shaquille O’Neal. During an interview, O’Neal said, “There’s a lot of competitive teams out there but I don’t think there’s any that can beat the Lakers in a seven-game series.” He also said that he’s not worried about Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers. Apparently, the Clippers are doing great so far this season. However, they always struggle during the playoffs and O’Neal believes that it’s going to happen again.
The Los Angels Lakers will face the Chicago Bulls on January 24, 2021.
