Get your appetites ready! McDonald’s is bringing back the McRib sandwich nationwide for the first time in 8 years. The beloved cult sandwich did make a brief comeback in select locations in 2019. But starting this week, fans can get the McRib in any location across the country.

But first, the fast-food chain is giving away 10,000 free McRibs. Read on for details on how to get one!

McRib Fans Flood Official McDonald’s Twitter DAILY, Begging For the McRib to Come Back

Back in October, the social media manager of McDonald’s had enough! They jokingly tweeted that no one ever asks how they are doing. They only ask about when the McRib is back.

Shortly afterward, the fast-food giant’s official Twitter made dreams come true. The announcement came in October that the McRib would be back soon. Well, it seems people forgot all about it, because on the eve of December, McRib is trending again on Twitter.

People are reacting to the news that the McRib is back. Some are reacting in joy, while others find the sandwich disgusting.

The Beloved Spicy Sandwich Returns Nationwide This Week

The McRib hasn’t been on the McDonald’s menu nationwide since 2012! If you’re not familiar, USA Today describes the sandwich as, “seasoned boneless pork, barbecue sauce, onions and pickles on a hoagie-style bun.”

Since 2012, it has made an occasional short-term appearance on menus in select locations. However, this will be the first time in 8 years that it will be found in all locations in the U.S.. Even the one that shares space with an Ace Hardware store.

The McRib makes its 2020 debut on Wednesday, December 2nd. But some – or 10,000 – lucky people will get a McRib sandwich for FREE. How?

How to Win a Free McRib

In an effort to promote the return of the McRib, McDonald’s partnered with the No-Shave November organization. Men can nab a free McRib by posting a photo of their clean-shaven face with the hashtag #Shave4McRibSweepstakes and tagging the official McDonald’s social media, @mcdonalds.

But wait – women can enter the contest, too! Women can take a photo of their face after using a facial mask, using the same hashtag and tagging McDonald’s.

The official press release explains it as follows:

“Beard or no beard, prepare for the McRib with a shave – or even a facial mask –because anyone can participate, from your brother to your mother, sister-in-law or cousin’s roommate.

To enter, post a picture of your cleanly-shaven or baby-smooth face on your public Twitter or public Instagram profile using #Shave4McRibSweepstakes and tag @mcdonalds.”

USA Today reports that the lucky winners will get a code for a free McRib through Uber Eats McDelivery. But only while supplies last. Meanwhile, part of the proceedings from the McRibs purchased on December 2 will go to the No-Shave November’s cancer charities.

While some people are excited for the McRib, others want to know when Taco Bell will bring back the Nacho Fries.

Will you be buying the McRib when it comes back in December? Let us know in the comments below.
