The next-gen version of NBA 2k21 is just right around the corner. It’s no secret that the next-gen upgrade is one of the most anticipated updates in the NBA 2K franchise. Fortunately, a fan managed to get an early copy of the next-gen version of NBA 2K21 for PS5. He revealed some of the most important details that every soon-to-be PS5 owner should know. Apparently, the next-gen upgrade of NBA 2k21 requires a lot. Here are some of the most important details if you’re planning to buy a copy.
NBA 2K21 Requires Massive Space
In a social media post, a fan shared a hard copy of NBA 2K21‘s PS5 version. According to the fan, the next-gen version of NBA 2K21 is around 150GB. That is 12 times bigger than the PS4 version of the game, which is only around 22GB. Apparently, the PS5’s storage is only 667GB. The NBA 2K21 will definitely take a lot of room. There are also similar games that offer huge size. One of which is the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which requires over 133GB of storage. Combining the two will automatically eat up most of the space in the PS5’s SSD. Not to mention it’s weekly huge updates. At this point in time, it’s not possible to use external hard drives to save games for PS5. However, Sony recently confirmed that they’re looking at the possibility of upgradable SSD storage for the PlayStation 5.
NBA 2K21 Features 150 CPU-Controlled NPCs
The next-gen update for NBA 2K21 might be the most ambitious in the 2K franchise so far. The game will feature an all-new NPC system, where players will be able to encounter 150 CPU controlled NPCs. The gameplay trailer of NBA 2K21 for PS5 also features much better crowds. Most of them no longer look the same. They also offer a wide variety of animations. A feature that has been lacking over the past generations of the game. Aside from that, some quality-of-life features might return in the game such as pre and post-game interviews and controllable warmups, which suddenly disappeared in the PS4 version of the game.
NBA 2K21 Next-Gen Upgrade May Confuse Players
The release of NBA 2K21 on PS4 confused a lot of fans. They suddenly changed the shot meter and dribbling controls in an entirely new system. It is expected that the next-gen update for PS5 is going to be more confusing than the PS4. Apparently, the next-gen upgrade will feature a new movement engine. They will also bring changes to the game’s foot-planting feature to avoid skating-like movements. Not just that, 2K also revealed that the next-gen upgrade will offer a more accurate collision system. Due to this, players should consider starting slow in the game to figure out the newly implemented features.
